I have been looking for Elmers first family with no luck. he is found in the 1900 census with his father Benjamin and three children, as follows:

It appears the wife was alive but where? Elmer is found in Cleveland in 1910 and listed as being single. There is no trace of the children after 1900. I haven't looked at the listing of the cemetery(s) in Fairfield Twp, Columbiana Co., OH yet to see if the children are buried there but it is a guess that perhaps they were adopted out. Don't know why he is listed as single in 910 instead of divorced or widowed. The children could also have been adopted by the mother and a second husband. Since I am so close to Columbiana, and we have many of the resources for that county at the library, I will se what if anything is listed in the probate records there and let you know.
Did you ever get a response on Elmers will?
Just FYI, we share Nicholaus Feuerstein and Anna Catheirne Nonnenmacher as common ancestrors.
