I know that Nicholas was from Austria; do you know where in Austria? I know very little about the Fischer side of my family. I have a picture of Barbara and Emil and their family, but that's the only picture of her I've ever seen. We also have a copy of a letter she sent to the Borks from Kansas, where Emil tried to homestead. They lived in a dirt basement with a roof - no wonder they came back to Ohio! There is also a family tale that Barbara worked as a domestic for President Hayes, but that may be a tall tale - I don't know.
