Lester and Clara are buried in Community cemetery in Oliver County, ND which I would presume is close to Center, ND. Lester died 8/4/65 and Clara in 11/27/71. Hope this helps. Jim Fisher
Looking for burial place of Aunt Clara Oliver Fisher . Living in Center, ND at time of death in 1971. Lester died sometime before her. Since there is no hospital in the little town of Center, I am assuming she was at the largest town with a hospital. Unless she died at home. I was there in 1966 at age 16 to visit her but do not know where she is buried. Any information will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Okay this widened my eyes. Before she died, my grandmother told me she had an uncle who was an officer who was killed while raiding a still in the mountains. Her mother I was told was named Martha Fisher who I think married a man named Emery. Grandma's maiden name was Tommie Jean Emery. Is any of this sounding off for anyone?

Robert Fisher of Blandford Forum born about 1775

I am trying to trace info on Robert Fisher of Blandford Forum, Dorset who was born about 1775. I base this upon a scrap of paper amongst family items which states that a number of family members were invited to dinner on November 27, 1857 to celebrate his 82nd birthday. This would indicate a birth date of 1775. I do not know whether November 27 is his exact birth date.
Other information I have is:
1. He or his son moved to Liverpool but I do not know when.
2. His wife or daughter-in-law was called Ann and she was born about 1816 in Devenport, Devon and died December 22, 1894
3. His son or grandson was called George Gregory Fisher who was born in Liverpool September 19, 1857
4. The only other note is a reference to Mrs. Allen of Severn Street, Liverpool and the date November 7, 1857. I know that George Gregory Fisher's family lived for a while in this area of Liverpool.

Thanks for any info or clues.

I'm trying to trace the parents of George Fisher (1822-1920) born in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania moved with his parents in 1826 to Knox, Ohio - married Sara Matheny in Ohio and settled in Missouri. His death certificate lists John Fisher and Mary Miller as his parents. I know he was part of the United Brethren church in Ohio. I have found George's census records in Mechanic Township, Holmes, Ohio - before moving to Missouri - but I can't locate the parents.

HELP!

Old Fisher and/or Reynolds Pictures

Can anyone identify the people in these photographs?

http://cid-39b1db14c948ff3a.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Mi...

I THINK these are pictures of the Reynolds and or Fisher families that may have belonged to Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher (26 Jul 1860-24 Aug 1936). Her husband was Walter Daniel Fisher (son of Thomas Dance Fisher & Martha Elizabeth Blackwell). Her parents were James P. Reynolds and Susannah Brasher of Fayette County.

My cousin Lindell thought this was the picture album of my grandmother Minnie Virginia Fisher Haile. I do not recognize these as being "Haile" pictures.

I think picture 2 is PROBABLY the wife of Robert W. Reynolds, brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher. His wife's name was "Annie G." I do not know her maiden name.

I think picture 4 is the brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds Fisher....Robert W. Reynolds.

I think the 6th picture is probably the child of Robert W. and Annie Reynolds. Her name was Estelle. Could picture 8 be an older picture of the same child?

Picture 11 was taken in Tom Green County (San Angelo). This COULD be Flavius Joseph Reynolds, brother of Elizabeth (Bettie) Reynolds. It COULD be his son Edward Manton Reynolds.

Picture 19 is James Walter Haile, son of James Thomas Haile and Mary Beaver Hodges.

Please contact me if you can identify any of these people.

Pat Kinsey
pa-ha-kin@austin.rr.com
William Fisher and Mary Ann Shepherd in London

Hi!
I was hoping that someone reading these boards may be able to help me unlock this riddle.

I am looking for any information which may help me learn more about or add parents/etc to the following family:
William Fisher b. ABT 1829, likely in Shoreditch London
d. ABT 1876 (as per children's admission records to Barnardo's)
Married to Mary Ann Shepherd b.ABT 1830, possibly in Ipswich
They married 22 August (or April) 1852 at St Philips Church, Bethnal Green, London

Children: Elizabeth Fisher Abt 1858
Caroline Fisher Abt 1861
William Fisher ABT 1862
George Fisher ABT 1867--went to Canada w/Barnardo's
Edward Fisher ABT 1870---went to Canada w/Barnardo's

I have found the family on the 1871 Census in Bromley St Leonard as well as Mary Ann on the 1881 Census. However, I cannot find the family on the 1861 census.

As per William and Mary Ann's marriage certificate, William's father was named Edward Fisher and Mary Ann's father was named William Sheppard.

If you can help shed light on this family, I would truly appreciate it!

Kind Regards,
Jeni Fisher

Norton Fisher, Shelburne, Ontario-newspaper article

Thursday, May 26, 1932

+ The sudden and unexpected death of Norton Fisher, a prominent and well known Shelburne businessman, took place at this home last Thursday evening after a three-day illness. Mr. Fisher, president and manager of the widely known firm Norton Fisher & Co. Ltd., and Mrs. Fisher had returned from their summer home at Wasaga Beach on Monday evening. Mr. Fisher was not feeling well Tuesday morning and medical aid was summoned, but it was not until Thursday morning that his condition became alarming. The late Mr. Fisher was born in Shelburne 53 years ago, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Fisher, pioneer residents of Shelburne. After working with the Rooney Bros. stores in Kincardine, Markdale and Owen Sound and at one point being a domestic buyer for Greenshields Ltd. of Montreal, he purchased the C. Mason & Co. general store business in Shelburne 30 years ago and five years later organized Norton Fisher & Co., carrying on an extensive and successful general mercantile business ever since.
Laban Fisher, born in VA about 1817

My gggrandfather, Elias Jefferson Fisher, had a brother named
Laban, born about 1817. Both moved from VA to MO. Laban had a son named Francis, daughters, Amanda, Emiline, Martha and Matilda and a son named Thomas B. Laban's wife was listed as Mariah in the 1850 census, then Ann M. in later census records. In 1850, they lived in St. Charles County, MO. In 1860, they lived at Flint Hill,MO. I haven't been able to find them in 1870, but in 1880, they had moved to Johnson County, in western MO. A daughter named Annie, 25 and son Alfa B., lived with her parents. I am hoping a descendant of Laban might be into genealogy and might have his parents' names and any other information.

I have a lot of info regarding his parents etc but I am trying to link up the Fishers at Blandford with the Fishers in Lancashire. My suspicion is that a branch of the family moved up north around the middle of the 19th century.
How do you fit in and what is your relationship with Henry Edward Fisher? Please reply to igmfish@yahoo.uk so we can exchange info.

Ian

John (Johan) D Fisher..Born Vienna, Austria May 16, 1850

I am seeking information, or family decendents, tied to my Grandfather John D. (Johan) Fisher (Fischer). born in Vienna, Austria, May 16, 1850. He came to the United States , December 10, 1879, from Vienna, Austria I know his Father 's name was Matt Fisher. No information, as yet on his mother or siblings. Grandpa John married in the USA, however , he had a wife and family in Austria, before he immigrated to US. He was not able to bring his family to US from Austria. John went to Austria in 1914 to visit, family records indicate ,and again in 1923. He lived in the US in Minum ,Wallowa, Oregon. late 1800's to 1934. John was my father, Stanley E. Fisher's Father. I am hoping some of Grandpa John's relatives came to the USA,from Germany , Austria, and Chekoslavacia. Delores Roe26

He too appears to have started life as a butcher but by the time of his marriage in 1856 he was a pastrycook. Later he was a restraunter owning the "Refreshment Rooms at Victoria Station".Both he and his wife were dead by 1870. Their 6 children were well provided for, and after completing their education emigated 'en masse' to Australia (via NZ)Eldest son was an architect, 3 daughters were nurses, 2nd son Real Estate Agent and youngest son was a newsagent - so they didn't follow the Fisher tradition of entering the food / catering industry!!
I have George (sen) death cert, and the informant is Frederick Fisher whose usual address (in April 1840) is Noble St Cheapside. Do you have any knowledge of who Frederick might be? My assumption is a brother of George, but I suppose given George's age at death, that it could be his father?
I have come across one researcher who has George's father as Robert, but as she is unable to state the source of the information, I think it more prudent to take that informstion a little cautiously!
Unfortunately, George's will gives no information that helps us go back further.
Have you got any ideas on where to go from here?
Regards

Lesley
Melbourne, Australia
Where are these Fishers from? My mother was born and raised in Franklin County, PA. She remembers her GreatGrandfather Jacob Fisher. He was a elderly man when she was a little girl in the 1930's. This Jacob Fisher said he came from Germany when he was about 5 or 6 years old. His daughter Bertha Fisher married John Cook. Their son, Jacob Franklin Cook was my mother's father. Any connection ya'll? John
JohnCBassSr@gmail.com
