Thanks for responding. William Fithian Jones and Rebecca Fithian are my great-great-great grandparents on my dad's side (my maiden name is Jones, FYI). My great uncle Dave Jones (recently passed away), was named after their son, David.

Honestly, the Fithian line isn't a problem for me - I've been able to trace them back to the immigrant, William Fithian in the 1600's (from Rebecca (above) > Philip > Joel (1st cousin to Philip Vickers Fithian) > Samuel > Josiah > Samuel Sr. > William Fithian, original immigrant to the colonies). It's the Jones' I'm having trouble with, for obvious reasons. I know William F. Jones' father's name was David, but I can't follow it back any farther. Plus, I think there has to be some link between them and the Fithians - otherwise, why the middle name Fithian?

At any rate, I hope you can help. I would be very grateful.
