Hi Bill - sorry so long on the response - been in hospital with pneumonia but out now and doing much better.

The info I have on Leticia Fizer (also see spellings Fiser and Fetzer) and Irvin Shell is this:
Irvin's family goes way back in Illinois/Ohio. He was born 1839 and died in 1894. He was married 3X -
1) Leticia Tish Fi(s)zer/Fetzer, born 1846 in TN; died 1864 in the area of Shelbyville/Fayette, IL. We do not have specific birth/death dates for her although we show 1860 as a marriage year. During this marriage, Leticia had two children: Isaac Howard (1862) and Samantha Louise (1863) - Samantha is my gr/grandmother.

2) Irvin remarried in 1866 to Lucy Ellen Stigers. The 1880 Census has them living in Holiday, Fayette, IL with alot of kids, including Isaac and Samantha.

3) Lucy died in 1885 and Irvin married Mary Rexroad and lived to 1894 and died in Shelbyville, IL in the house my mother grew up in.

We don't have much other info on Leticia. Also, we have seen different spellings of Fizer - Fizer - Fetzer. We're not sure which one is the real one because we can't find a marriage certificate for them. I guess it's always possible they did not "officially" get married although back in that day would be unlikely.

Also as an FYI, Irvin was a Civil War vet and was receiving pension for being wounded that I'm looking into. I guess it's possible that might yield additional details about Leticia. Based on the dates we have, we are wondering if his injury came about April 1864 because that is when he is discharged from the infantry - Leticia died in Nov. 1864.

Do you know where Leticia (Fiser) Schell was living when she died ca 1864? And also how did you find that Leticia's maiden name was FISER or FIZER? Was this passed down through the family, or is there some other record that indicates that Leticia was a FIZER? Regarding Samantha, do you have her birthplace?

Hello Bill: thanks for your note. Leticia Fiz(s)er was married to Irvin S(c)hell. They are the parents of Samantha Shell, who is the mother of Mildred Riley Watts, who is my grandmother. I know Leticia died in 1864 shortly after Samantha was born 14 Oct 1854. I just can't find anything out regarding Leticia and thought someone else have been able to gather something else. Anything you have would help. Thanks so much!

I saw a family tree on rootsweb.com that listed Isaac Shell, the son of Irvin Shell and Leuticia Fizer as born in January 1862 in Howard County, Missouri. This is not documented so I don't know where they got Howard County, MO as Isaac's birthplace. As I stated earlier, in later censuses, isaac is listed as born in Missouri. There were several Fizers living next door to Howard County in Saline County, MO.

How did you find that her name was Fizer, and how do you know her birth and death dates? I have been researching the Fiser/Fizer family for many years, and have not heard that name. I am assuming that Irvin Shell married Leticia ca 1860-61. Their first son Isaac, born 1862, was listed in later censuses as born in Missouri. Irvin Shell's father was Isaac Martin Shell, and he was living in Dunklin County, MO in 1860, and died there in 1863. There was a Fizer family living in Dunklin County, MO during the 1850's and early 1860's, but I have never heard the name Leticia associated with that family. There were also some Fiser/Fizer familes living in Illinois in the 1860's in St. Clair, Marion, and Williamson counties, and possibly other counties. So any additional information you have on Leticia will be appreciated. I have seen some family trees on ancestry.com list her as FETZER instaed of FIZER, so that is why I asked where you found that her surname was FIZER.

looking for info on Letiutia "Tish" Fizer,. B 1846; D 1864. Can't tell if she actually married Irvin Shell but they had two children - Isaac and Samantha. Irvin was on Union side during C/W and remarried two more times - Lucy Ellen Stigers in 1866; then Mary Rexroad. Anyone help would be appreciated.

I have been researching the Fiser/Fizer family for nearly twenty years. Can you tell me how you found that Leticia's last name was FIZER? I noticed in the 1880 census of Fayette County, IL that Irvin's son Isaac H. Shell was listed as born in Missouri while his sister Samantha was born in Illinois. It also lists their mother, who I assume was Leticia FIZER, as born in Tennessee. Do you know if Isaac H. Shell was born in Dunklin County, MO.?
The reason I ask is that Irvin's father Isaac Martin Shell had moved his family to Dunklin County, MO before the 1860 census. It makes me wonder if Irvin married Leticia in Dunklin County, and that was where Isaac was born ca 1862?

We think Illinois. Irvin enlisted in Army in June, 1864 and was mustered out in Sept, 1864 - perhaps because she passed. That's about all we know - any ideas??

Looking for any info on Letitcia (sp) Fizer who was married to my g-grandfatherX3, She died in 1864 after having two children with Irvin Shell - Isaac and Samantha. She was very young - about 18. Was born 1846; died 1864. It is possible she immigrated from Ireland but I can't find any record of her in anywhere - either here or Ireland. This is the only info we have on her so anything you might have would be great.

Darlene Fabanish Huber Fizer

I am looking for Darlene Fabanish Huber Fizer. She was married to my uncle Butch (Gerald) Huber and they had 2 sons. I had contact with her and the boys in 2002/2003 but I have lost all contact with them.

They had two sons--
Steven Huber Fizer
Shawn Huber Fizer

Paul Fizer lived in Bellingham, Washington for a period around 1910-1912, moved to Alberta, but returned to the US. Chloe FIZER married a TAYLOR, and became an actress. A family member has a very old picture (?tintype?) of her posing with John Wayne, Clark Gable and others.
Electa, Paul and Chloe FIZER show up on the 1900 US Census in Davenport, Iowa, without Joseph. He ended up in Bellingham, Washington, married to my great grandmother by 1910.

If anyone has these individuals in their data files, I would really appreciate a reply.

Opal gave birth to James Edward on 1/29/1935. He was raised by his father, Lloyd Ewell Hayslip and Lloyd's wife, Mary (ne: Moore). James was raised with Lloyd, Jr. and his half brothers, Raymond, Richard, (one brother I won't name), Johnny and his half sister Lavera (known as Sissy). Opal's maiden name is not known.
