My gg-parents, John & Catherine Flaherty were in Westmoreland Co. in 1870 but before that they were in Pittsburgh. They were born in Ireland as was their oldest son, Martin. John, Patrick, Peter (my g-father) & Michael were born in Pittsburgh, I think. They are not the Flahertys you are looking for but if you have any info on them I would appreciate having it. I'm finding that there are an awful lot of John Flahertys.
