Classification: Query
Surnames: Flath, Flatt, Floth, Flaht
Looking for any information about an Andreas Floth who was born abt 1873 in Brunnental, Samara, Russia. He came to the US in Dec of 1909 and was heading for Lincoln NE. It appears that his wife might have been sick and was still in Libau awaiting a ship to the US.....any info on this family would be appreciated.
Name of ship: SS Haverford
Depart Liverpool Dec 1, 1909
Arrive Philadelphia Dec 15, 1909
Line 6. Flatt, Andreas, age 35, male, married, farm laborer,
German from Russia, last residence Brunenthal.
Nearest relative in Russia: WIFE, Marie Katrina Flott, LIBAU, RUSSIA
Going to: friend, Jacob Walter, 1124 N 10th, Lincoln NE
Ticket paid by self, $5.00 in pocket -- 5' '7" tall, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, b Brunnenthal Russia
=============
Then a note about naturalization: March 8, 1919 1600/12709
and another note: July 6, 1942 242?826-21-23744- C/A
(these notes were written in when he applied for naturalization, and they go back to the ship lists and verify when the person entered the US......the dates and numbers represent either the intent to naturalize #'s of the application or the actual naturalization #'s)
So, that means Andreas came to the US, and it appears that he was here in 1919 and 1942.............I've searched and searched, but cannot find him on any censuses yet. I've tried with a variety of spellings of the name: Flatt, Flaht, Floth, Flath, etc
