Annie GORDON Flax obituary in Waterloo Evening Courier
MORTUARY
MRS. HUSTON Flax.
Mrs. Huston Flax, 52, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, at her home, 410 Newell street, after a lingering illness of complications.
Annie Gordon was born Aug. 30, 1875, in New Orleans, La. She was married at New Orleans to Huston Flax. They came to Waterloo 15 years ago. She was a member of African Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving besides her husband are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Jane White, Oelwein, Ia.; Mrs. Constance Richter, Norfolk, Va.; Lawrence Gordon, New Orelans; Charles Gordon, Chicago; and Frank Gordon, 410 Newell street.
The body is at the Petersen Bros. mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the African Methodist Episcopal church. Rev. J.P. Sims, paster, will officiate.
