My husband is a descendant of Levi's brother Simon Fleagle who married Catherine Harrison, their son Caleb Harrison married Rebecca McElroy Stinson, and Caleb & Rebecca's daughter Laura Ellen Fleagle Baskins is his ggrandmother. Would like to share info.

Laura Ellen and Franklin S Baskins were my husbands ggrandparents. His grandfather was their son Roy Cylvester Baskins. They were married March 21, 1888 in Rose Creek Precinct, Thayer County, Nebraska. We have been to Frank and Laura's gravesites in Fairbury, Nebraska. Are you a descendant of Frank and Laura, also?

Hi Faye, Enid or Chicky, I am Linda Birdsall Shank, Vi's daughter. My mother pasted away in June 4, 1981 and Robert on July 29,1993. Carole and her husband Jack Stenger are still here in Hagerstown. I live in Maugansville just outside of Hagerstown. Carole and I talk about the three of you often. Ricky Smith, Lena's (Mammy's sister) grandson did some checking on the Fleagle family tree. Is Aunt Dot still alive? I have an intense desire to vist Atlantic City. I guess that happens the older you get. Please email me I would love to chat with you.

My aunts name was Violet I Fleagle Birdsall born in 1908 in Baltimore Md. Last I knew was living in Hagerstown Md.She had an answer service business for a while. She had 3 children carol born in 1934 Robert W birdsall born July 1936 Died july 1996 and Linda Birdsall born around 1940.
Her mother was Ruby R Fleagle and father was John Samuel Fleagle

Hi, Do you have the date of Alice Fleagle's death? If so, I would like to have it for my records.
Was just looking at your Davis information on Roots Web (couldn't find your Maryland Families in Ancestry) and I found I have some information you don't. Would you mind if I sent you an email to get your address so I could send it to you via snail mail? Since I have info on it on family that is still alive I don't want to put it on the internet (I will mark those that are still alive on the 23 pages). This will include Davis, Duvall, Fleagle, Brewton, Trought, etc. I will run out a copy, in case you want it, and have it ready to send. It includes typewritten copies of newspaper articles on deaths, marriages, births; City Directories, census, etc. I haven't input everything I have yet as I am working on the other side of my family at this point. Let me know.

Hi, Right now I live in New Freedom,Pa. just over the Md. line but lived all my life in Balto. Co.If you look in Roots Web or Ancestry.Com for a genealogy named Maryland Families that is mine and has all of the Duvall info back to the original immigrant. There is a Duvall Society in Md. and many books have been written about them.I do not have the obit for Alice i am sorry.You could find it at the central Pratt library in Balto. in the old newspaper area.There is also more info on the Davis family in my genealogy.I don't have anything about the Brewtons as they are not my direct line.We you be so kind as to send me somethting about them or direct me to your genealogy.Thanks for your inquiry talk to you soon Claudia Casseday

Hi Claudia. Thanks for your response. The only info I have on Peter Davis is that he was possibly born in Canada & died 29 Jun 1839. His wife was Mary Hester, who died 27 Jun 1840. I do not have anything on his parents but I haven't looked into Canada as he is not a blood relative.
I did not know Alice died. Would love to have the date of her death and a copy of the obit if you have them. Carl's father Archibald and his wife Fannie Emmett (who was evidently called Emma were people I called Uncle Arch and Aunt Fannie. I really don't know if they were real Uncle & Aunt or not but they were related somehow. I visited Carl & Alice in 1999 before they moved out of their house. He gave me a lot of info on his family and I put it in my computer and sent him a printed copy. He called me after receiving it and said "You know more about my fammily than I do."
Fannie Emmett Duvall's parents were Charles Henry Duvall & Emma Amelia Wheatley Davis. Emma Amelia Wheatly Davis Duvall married 2) William Wesley Brewton, my great grandfather after Charles Henry died. Emma Amelia Wheatly Davis' father was Joseph Davis who married Anna Newman and Joseph's father was Peter Davis who married Mary Hester.
You asked if I need any info about the Duvalls. If you have any on the Charles Henry line I would love it, and I'll be glad to give you anything I have.
Do you live in Maryland? I used to live in Washington, DC, but now live in Arizona.

Hi Claudia. Your message of 6 Jan 2002 about your great-grandfather being Archibald Fleagle and married to Emma Duvall has me comfused. I have Archibald married Fannie Emmett Duvall and they had Carl, Les, and Marjorie, plus Mildred Fay Fleagle who died in 1900. My relation to Archibald Fleagle is thru his wife's mother Emma Amelia Wheatly Davis who married 1) Charles Henry Duvall and 2) William Wesley Brewton, my great-grandfather. I knew Carl Fleagle (Joseph Carl) b. 1911 who married Alice Gartrell in 1937 very well. My parents were Walter Trought & Helen Brewton. I will be happy to give you any info I have on this family. Richard, just saw your message on John Fleagle where you mentioned Archie & Fannie Fleagle. They were my aunt & uncle. My mother & father were Walter & Helen Trought who lived in Washington DC. Did you write the book "Fleagle Family History"? I just came across a reference to it in Nebraska Ancestry, Vol 23, #5, where they mentioned new books they received. I got some information from my cousin Carl Fleagle, before he moved into the retirement home, which I have put into my genealogy records. Please let me know if there is someway I can get a copy of this book. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am wondering if possibly my great grandmother may be a sister or cousin to John Andrew Fleagle. I know nothing about her family. All I know is that she was born 11/2/1876 in Taneytown and died 8/2/1967. She is buried at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetary in Harney, MD. Any info that you could provide would be extremely helpful.

My mother in law is the daughter of Daisy V B Fleagle. Her grandpartents were John Andrew and Mary Emma Fleagle. Her name is Mary Kathryn Linton Hershey. Would love any additional info you might have. Also will ing to share all that I have. Thanks, Janie

In my database of over 10, 000 names of Descendents of Johann Valentin Fluegel, I find the following:
RN=2752 John Andrew Fleagle, b. 06-30-1871 @ Taneytown, Md., d. 03-06-1961. B. St Paul Luthern Cem, Harney, MD. M. Mary Emma (Hartzell) Fleagle.
His father is RN=2744 John Thomas Fleagle, his mother is Margaret Susan (Arthur) Fleagle
John Andrew's four children were:

I am trying to find my connection with your in-laws. I have been to the graveyard where Daisy V. Linton's tombstone is located. In close proximity were several other Fleagle tombstones - John A. Fleagle and Mary E. Fleagle. All three of these tombstones had the same type flower arrangement on them. Close to those tombstones was my great grandmother's tombstone Effie Mae Fleagle Fream. I am trying to find the link between these Fleagles. It is obvious that they are somehow related. I have birth and death dates for both John and Mary Fleagle if you need them.

Need help in finding name of Mary A. Bickel Fleagle's husband who apparently was deceased by 1900.
1900 Census of Pitt Co., Illinois listed Mary at age 63 with stepson Charles age 39. Mary and husband were from Clermont Co., Ohio. Believe her husband could have been John Fleagle???
