Fleeger painting, Indiana. Indiana County, PA 1920s/1930s

I am researching a painting done by a Fleeger in Indiana PA, probably in the 20s or 30s. The only Fleeger I can find is Albert Fleeger, born around 1906. In the 1930 census he was a mechanic, married to Laura, with sons Clair N. and Frank. Any idea about an artist from Indiana PA?

I have a copy of Frank Woods' book, which is an excellent and detailed history of Christian Fleeger (originally Pflueger) and his descendents. Your Jacob Fleeger is not in this book and it does not seem likely that he was a descendent of Christian.

I also have info on the Fleeger name. Michael Fleeger was my GGGrandfather. Born-1795 and died in White C. Ind. in1889. Robert Fleeger's name is listed near his in 1880 Census. According to Census Michael's parents were from Germany. Would be pleased to hear from you. I am annbennion@bright.net.

Dear Mary & Robert, I received & read your message tonight with surprize & delight. I am quite aware of the Ellen Kilbride book & a few years ago I even spoke to spoke to her. My grandfather, Roy Flieger, who died in Jan. 2000, is from Chatham, N.B. but raised his family in Alberta & later in British Columbia.

Hello, David. My husband is a descendant of John Henry Flieger. We are in contact with Jim Craik, and, like him, are trying to compile an up-to-date genealogy of the descendants of John Henry.

My husband's Flieger connection is through his maternal Grandmother, Bridget Flieger Anderson, who spent her married life in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia, and who is buried there.

We have met Jim Craik as he lives quite close to us in Nova Scotia. I shall tell him I have tried to make contact with you.

Hello, David. I am aware that you are trying to find info about your forebear John Henry Flieger. My husband is a descendant of John Henry Flieger through his maternal grandmother and we have a copy of a booklet about him, printed in 1988, which we would be happy to share. I have been in recent touch with John Merz, who tells me that while John Henry fought on the British side during the American Revolution he is NOT a Hessian. Does anyone know where I might find a copy of the FLEEGER genealogy book written by Frank Wood & published by Whipporwill Pub. Co., in Evansville, IN? I believe it was published in 1987. I tried calling the publishing co., but they are no longer in business. Jacob Frederick Fleeger, b. btw. 1770 & 1780 in York Co., PA was my 3rd gr. grandfather.

I'm also doing research on the Flieger family. Are you willing to share info? I have a typewritten booklet "In Search of John Henry Flieger" written in 1989 by Ellen Elizabeth Flieger Kilbride. I have it in pdf format and in Word.

John Fleeger - buried in Uniondale Cemetery - born 09/03/1803 in Center Twp,Butler Co., PA to Jacob and Catherine (Whitmire) Fleeger. Died 01/21/1882 in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh's North Side), Allegheny Co., PA. He was a gunsmith and served his apprenticeship to his first father-in-law, Thomas Allison. He married in 1831 to Anna Allison and they had 7 children. He married again in the early 1850's to her cousin Mary Polly Allison and they had 3 children. Buried in Uniondale Cemetery (most likely the unreadable stone beside him) is his daughter, Harriet (1937-1876, never married). She was a music teacher in Allegheny City.

Looking for info on Frank Fleeger and his wife Maggie Wallace Fleeger(born 1887) According to the obit of Maggie's father William Wallace they were living in Enigh Pa
in 1914. I think they may have had the following children ; Frank(born 1909),Pearl(1911) and Roxie(1913). Possablely they were living in Indiania Co.Pa by 1920 and earned his living by mining coal. Thsnks for any help in advance--Myrna

John FLEEGER,died Jan. 21, 1882, Father
There was a worn, unreadable stone next to it. Stones on either side were WOODS STERRITT.
I have no other info as it is not my line.

Samuel b.1834 in Ohio
Margaret b. 1839 in Indiana
Samuel b. 1842 in Kentucky
Jacob A. Fleeger married second Sarah Ann Corps, 8 September 1844 in Spencer County, Indiana.They had 7 children all born in Indiana.

Is anyone missing this Jacob?
