are you still on ancestry? My family tree has led me to Bedford, Pa. My 2nd Great grandfather's name was James Fleegle. On his marriage certificate, it shows that he was born in 1871 and his parents were Sarah Shaffer and Charley Fleegle. Any chance you might be looking at the same people?

Harriet Fleegle was married to Daniel Custer. They had a daughter named Rachael Custer who married Ewalt Young. Rachael (Custer) Young and Ewalt Young had a son named Dorsey Young who was a brother to my Grandmother Margaret Young Culin. I have some very old pictures of Custer/Fleegle/Swank families.

Have you tried www.rootsweb.com? The social security death records may lead to some more names for you to look up. Also look up some adoption agencies. You might try looking under missing persons too. Sorry I'm not much help.

I am the mother of 2 children....Chris and Melissa Werder...Their fathers name was Larry James Werder the son of Robert James Fleegle born March 1923 or 1925. Larry was born Oct 24 1947 his mother was Hazel Werder he was raised by his grand-parents Leo and Erma Werder.I do not believe he was ever legally adopted all we have for birth certificate is a hospital copy with names scratched out and covered up..Through our research we were given the fathers name it being Robert James Fleegle which fits the little bit we can make off the birth record ..Larry always wanted to know his father..now I have a son and daughter with kids who would like to know at least info on the man..they have gotten farther than their Dad ever could because of to many family road blocks..We do not want to cause any hardships but Larry nor his children are listed as Werder's so they must be somewhere under the name Fleegle PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN..We were told the Fleegle family wanted the child but were kept from him ..Mr. Fleegle would have 2 grand-children and so far 4 great grand-children..I would love to surprise my kids with the info of where they belong in their ancestry Thank you and Sincerely Debi
