Hi Chad,
Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. I don't come here often anymore. I did find my Dad in Sept. of last year. He has passed away. I have 4 brothers, 2 have passed away. I also have a sister. She lives on the east coast and the brothers live in Waldron and Shelbyville, Indiana. I went back and met them and a Whole BUNCH OF OTHER FAMILY. It was a wonderful experience. One I will never forget.
My dad is not french and indian like I thought. His name is Donald Dale Fleener. I have a family CD of our Fleener Family history. I don't know if Dale is on it or not. I work pretty much full time and am involved with a few things. I will try and look up what info. I can find and let you know. Just may take me a while.
Shirley

I know this post is going on 3 years old but I figured I would try :) Any chance you have some type of source for the Adam/Elizabeth cousin angle? I have come to that same conclusion myself, but there is so little info out there on Adam outside of some land records, that I can't bring myself to accept it as fact yet... I feel like I am missing something... Its like Adam tried to not exist...

My Dad and Mom were, I believe married. I know in Indiana, but not county or town. I was born Oct. 1944.
My Dads name is Donald Dale Fleener. Not sure about the middle name. I know he was one-half Indian (American). I know one of his parents was French. I know that he served in the Army. I have a picture of him in uniform. He and my Mom were divorced when I was 6 months or so old. She remarried when I was around a year old. We lived in Vincennes, Indiana at the time.

Please let me know if you can steer me in the right direction. I would love to know if he is still alive, I have brothers and sisters I have never met and about my Indian heritage.
Thanks so much, Shirl

I would be interested to know, when and where they were married. Thank you, Beth Schofield

I am the g-granddaughter-in-law of Charles and Alice Fleenor/Fleener of Bristol, VA. They raised my husband's father, James Robert Sword. His mother, their dau, Hattie Fleenor supposedly died in childbirth along with James' newborn sister. A couple of years ago I heard this was all untrue. So, I'm trying to find out names, dates and anything else I can on the Fleenors. I believe their children were: Hattie, Ray, Day, and Faye. Hope you can help. Thanks, Laura

Re: Reunion Bristol July 2004 the Fleener´s

I am researching the Fleener/Fleenor of Bristol, VA and surrounding areas. My husband's g-grandfather was Charles Fleenor married to I think a Alice ?. They had a dau named Hattie. She was my father-in-law's mother. Any Charles and Alice raised my father-in-law. His name was James Robert Sword, kin to all the Sword's in VA. He didn't have anything to do with the Sword side of the family. But Charles came to Oklahoma to see James almost every summer until he got too old to travel. Charles did in April 1984. I believe he had a son named Ray and dau's named Faye and Day. When is the next reunion? We going to VA during springbreak hopefully. If not then, during the summer. Hope you can help me.
