I am trying to get information on Evan Fleetwood who lived in New Castle, Wilmington area in 1917. Evan was listed as the "closest relative" of my grandfather, James Edward Kemp Messick, on James' WWI registration card. James lists Evan as his cousin.

I know of one Messick who married Andrew J Fleetwood but I have never been able to connect her to my grandfather, James.

His mother's maiden name was Elsie Hignutt.
