Hello! I am a Granddaughter of John and Hildegard Halaska. I am a little confused at how we are related. John - my Grandfather, Alois and Casper are all brothers, and you are decended from Casper, is that correct? I had NO IDEA that one of them had been in the Civil War. I noticed the name Paula Lemire, my aunt married into the Lemire family. So we are all connected, sonehow. I am a bit confused about your comment saying that Hildegard is a decendant (great granddaughter) of ALOIS, I thought ALOIS was John Halaska's brother, so ALOIS would be her brother-in-law......
