I just returned from the Flora reunion for the descendants of John Flora and Sarah Harter (m. 1826). John moved with his parents to Preble Co., Ohio from Franklin Co. Va. He later moved to Carroll Co., Indiana and donated land for the town of Flora. He was the first deacon elected in the Church of the Brethren of Flora, Indiana. Our line is through their son, Abraham Flora, who married Lydia Brubaker in 1849. Later generations married into the Alsbaugh, Bowerman, and Avery families of northcentral Indiana. I am searching for any descendants; hope you can join us next year for the reunion! :-)
