Looking for a line of Floras who began in Virginia and moved to Ohio. James Flora, wife unknown, had a son John Flora, born around 1818 in Virginia. I have various reports of his wife's name, as Nancy Hesson, Nancy Henson, and Eliz/Elizabeth Tyler. They would have been married around 1841 in Virginia. They had a dozen children, including Luella, born around 1850. Luella's first husband was William McGuire..she married him in 1869 in Ohio and they had two daughters. In 1875, she married James B. Layne, also in Ohio, and they also had two daughters, one of whom, Meomie Layne, was my great-great grandmother. I have heard, through word of mouth passed down through the family, that Luella's grandparents were Native Americans, possibly Cherokee and/or Comanche. Anyone who might have any information on this family line, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been working on this for a couple of years now, and only discovered Luella's maiden name earlier this week, so finding the Native American connection has been VERY tricky. :)
