Monserrate Flores, age 62, of Erie,
died Tuesday March 24, 2009 at her residence
She was born in Puerto Rico on September 12, 1946 daughter of the late Antonio Flores and Teodomira Ortiz-Rivera. She was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Parish. Monserrate enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents
she was preceded in death by a son Hector Ortiz, several brothers and sisters and two grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Manuel Ortiz Sr.;
11 children, Edwin Ortiz and his wife Julia, Carlos Ortiz and his wife Amanda, Johnny Ortiz and his wife Jessica, Angel Ortiz and his wife Nicole Orsini, Manuel Ortiz Jr. and his wife Ann, Wandy Ortiz and his wife Anna Rodriguez, Heriberto Ortiz and his wife Michelle, Wilfredo Ortiz, Ruth Ortiz and her husband Alex Cabrera, Linette Burgos and her husband Erasmo, and Grissel Ortiz and her husband Noel Vega; 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home 602 W 10th Street on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen of Hungary Parish 1237 W. 21st Street Erie, Pa 16502 with Rev.
