Classification: Immigration
Surnames: FLOURNOY, FLOURNOIS
There is a lot of information about the immigrant FLOURNOYs online, but it can be very hard to find DOCUMENTED evidence online. One thing that can be helpful is to check posts from years past. They are all archived and searchable. Be sure to check not only the Rootsweb message boards but also the Genealogy Forum boards --

Nora Tocus, who is a reliable researcher, seems to have posted a lot there. One thing she says is that "the immigrant Jacob Flournoy, a Huguenot ... came to America in 1700 on the ship Peter and Anthony---if you look on Cindy's List under Huguenots you will find a facsimile of the ship's manifest where Jacob Flournois, sa femme et ses deux garcons (his wife and his two boys) are listed."
Cyndi's list is at http://cyndislist.com/
Also, if one of your ancestors joined the DAR as a Flournoy descendant, contact the Daughters of the American Revolution about the evidence she submitted.
