Ezekiel Fluellen, minister and travelling evangelist's wife lived to be 113 yrs. old buried in that same area in Corinth, Ga.

Fluellens are all over from east to west and from north to
south.
Good Luck!
Recent reunion for Alabama was cancelled due to low enrollment. (unfortunate) next one will be in two years
ft. valley, ga.
History goes back to a Welsh soldier, wm. fluellen, in

shakespeare, acts I, II & III. also, white slave master's
son married a sophie fluellen during the 1800's, (smile)

Roberta
Charity Neal would've been my great-great-great aunt (I think). My great-grandmother was Daisy Burrell Neal, daughter of Burrell Neal, Jr. and Carrie Roberson Neal. Burrell Neal, Jr. was the son of Burrell Neal, Sr. and Mary Gail Anderson. Charity was the sister of Burrell, Jr. Any info that you have would be appreciated

Llewellyn and variations

There are a lot of ways the name is spelled. I like to think that when the Llewellyns came to America, most people spelled it the way it sounds. The "Fluellings" in England set the English straight, but we never bothered. So the "F" versions are American versions.
To me, there are two basic families in America; in the north and in the south. In the north they came through Boston about 1635, through Connecticut to Long Island in New York, and from there everywhere. They used Flewelling, mostly, but also Flewwelling, Fluelling, Flewwellin, Flewellyn, Flawellin, Welling, and so on; but they were all related. They are all descended from Thomas and Hannah (Ashman) Flewelling in the 1600's. That's my family.
In the south, they seem to have come out of Virginia and the Carolinas; a lot from the Carolinas. So many that I suspect that that's your family. In the south, they used some "L" versions as well: Lewelling, Luelling, Lewellyn, Lawelling. Again, they were often in the same family.
I used to think that the south and north were totally different families. Not all Llewellyns are related. In Wales they did not use last names for a long time. If your father was Rhys, and your name was Owen, you were Owen ap Rhys; Owen son of Rhys. If you met another Owen ap Rhys, then you were Owen ap Rhys ap Hwyell and he was Owen ap Rhys ap Morgan. Eventually, these became regular last names; about the 1600's. Owen ap Rhys became Owen Price. Owen ap Hwell became Owen Powell, and so on. We became Llewellyns, or, in North America, Flewellings and all the many variations.

Tom

Elizabeth Fluellen. From the information that I have. She married George W. Segrest 21 May 1846, Macon County, Alabama. She had at least one child, Zebulon Randolph Segrest (my GGrandfather) born about 1847. I have her married to Alpheus S. Chapman on 22 December 1859. A. S. Chapman was killed during the Civil War. The 1860 Federal Census she was living next door to her then mother-in-law, Mary Clough Chapman. In the 1880 Federal Census she was still living next door to Mary Chapman, who then was living with her son, Dr. James A. Chapman. According to a newspaper article in the Lakeland Ledger and Star Telegram, Lakeland Florida, she married Dr. Chapman and they were living in Polk County, Florida. She died 29 September 1911 and is buried in the Griffin (Galloway) Cemetery, Polk County, Florida. I would appreciate any information anyone can share with me. Thank you for your help.

I am a great-great-great grand daughter of Henderson Luelling. My grandmother is Cora Ruth Klann married to David Young. Her mother was Ellen Elizabeth Klann daughter of Seth Luelling, Son of Alfred (if I remember correctly) who was the son of Henderson. I have a ton of pictures as well as documentation on our family. My grandma, Cora, , made a trip out to Iowa this summer to visit the homestead. I could have her contact you if you are interested in more info. You mentioned you have info back to the 1700's. Would you please e-mail me at AandE@cwnet.com, (new e-mail address), I only have back as far as Meshack. Thank you.
