Mary J Fluty was my great grandmother and it has been passed down through the generations that she was full blooded Cherokee Indian. She married a white man by the name of George Houchens and lived and died in Barren County Kentucky county seat of Glasgow, Kentucky. She died young and I can't seem to find who her parents were only that George went and got her. If only my grandfather was living I could ask him. Any information out there to give me a starting place would be greatly appreciated. She signed her marriage license with an X so the written in name by someone else may not be Fluty as written as they would have only went by the sound of what she said her name was.
