Joseph S. Fodi
Joseph Stephen Fodi, 90, of Hampton Township, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. He was born May 9, 1918, in Etna, to the late Stephen and Anna (Mai) Fodi. Joe was a World War II veteran, who served as a sergeant in the Army in the European Theater of Operations with Company A, 406th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Division. Prior to his retirement, he was the proprietor of Fodi's Arco, which was located on Route 8 in Hampton, and was a salesman at Tom Henry Chevrolet. He is survived by his daughters, Jo-Ann (Jack C.) Kendrick and Susan I. Fodi, of Hampton Township; and his sister-in-law, Jean Amy Pease, also of Hampton Township. He will be sadly missed by his cats, Callie and Mittens. In addition to his parents and his sister, Marie Moore, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Irene (Pease) Fodi, on Sept. 12, 2004. They were married April 5, 1943. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor James Callahan, of Allison Park Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hampton Cemetery.
