Do you know if there is a relationship for Malachi Hagan to James William Hagan. James, JW, was my great grandfather, born in 1832 in Barnwell SC. He had a twin brother, Jasper. They were orphaned as teenagers and lived in Hampton,SC at the Lawton Plantation. I have no info back beyond JW, no record of his parents.

Both were married previously.
Will married Lula Post and had 4 children: John , Devela, Alvin, Velma Beatrice.

Nora was married to George W Harlan and had 6 children: Minnie, Steve, John Wesley, George Maurice, Nora May (my grandmother) and Jimmie.

I found 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records for Will and Nora and family.
I show 6 children for them. : Lizzie Dolly, Ruby, Will, Ruth, Lee, June Estelle.

want some collabrating info. please help

Phoebe/Phebe Fogle of VA/OH

I am looking for any and all information on one Phoebe or Phebe (I've seen it spelled both ways) who was born in Virginia around 1828. By 1844 she was living in Knox County, Ohio and in December of that year had married George W. Hazlett. She was his second wife and she had two children with him - Jacob and Robert.

Sometime right before 1860 George and Phoebe moved to Fayette County, IL. I lose her trail after 1870, as this is the last year she appears in any census record. By 1880 her husband George is listed in the census record for Loudon Twp, Fayette Co, IL as widowed.

To date I have found zero birth or death records for either Phoebe or George. I do have a copy of their marriage certificate from Knox County, Ohio though.

I do not know the names of her parents, but I suspect that she had a sister named Margaret Fogle who was b. abt. 1823 also in Virginia. She (Margaret) married a Christopher Hissong and also relocated to Fayette Co, IL.

If anyone has any information they are willing to share, I would be grateful. Thank you in advance.

Nancy: I can scan you what I have as I had a researcher that found news articles as well for me. She did not copy the articles themselves but wrote down what they said. As you know, all the Allen County marriages are on microfilm and the death records are online to, I believe,1953, so that has been nice to look at!

Yes, I have more names and dates. I asked a person a long time ago to do some research for me in OH. She compiled information for me the best she could. Now that the OH death records are online it has helped to make complete dates I was only estimating. All other info has come from the internet. I am not personally in touch with anyone on this line nor am I personally related (bloodwise). This line is my adopted fathers(my mother's second husband) and I have taken it as my own.

Funny you should reply today. I just received several photos of gravestones of the Fogles from Spencerville.

When you say you have more detail, is the information I posted correct? Or do you have more names, dates?

I also know that John Fogle (1792) had a second wife
Sarah Hood, who was the mother of Roseannah Hood who married
John's son Isaac in 1876.

Fogle could also have been spelled Fogel, Fogal, Vogel,Vogle etc. which makes finding them in the big
state of Pennsylvania very difficult.

My great grandmother was Nettie E. Fogle Roach. She was married to Claude C. Roach. She died on April 7, 1955, at app. 78 years of age. Claude was born July 25, 1878 and died on November 26, 1942. They both died in York, PA. I am positive they can be traced back to Frederick, MD. Their children were John Elmer Roach, born January 2, 1900 and died on February 8, 1970; Margaret B. Roach Stumpf, born June 25, 1903 and died January 22, 1975; William L. Roach, born on November 6, 1906 and died 1973; Chester C. Roach, born March 10, 1910 and died June 29, 1978; and they had a half brother Edgar L. Morgan, born August 27, 1896 and died June 5, 1972. Are you related to this group?

Floyd Lee Fogle had a brother Raymond Fogle who lived in McGregor, Texas. He was still alive in 1983 at the
Time of Floyd William Fogle's death.

Also I think he had a brother named Guy Fogle who's wife Dorothy worked at Luby's in Waco.

Floyd William Fogle told me one time he had a grandfather who was a sheriff or Marshall in
Flatonia, Texas but I do not remember which side of the family. I know there are Fogles there today.

Also they were kin to the Brinegar's. I can not remember how but when he told me they were buried in
The First Street Cemetery in Waco, Texas I visited the graves. This is located at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame.

I don't think so. I don't have a "Nettie E." anywhere in my research. There was a daughter (first name unknown) of James E. Fogle who lived in Harrisburg PA, but it shows her married to a Henry Deterich. The other children of James E. were John E., William T., Minnie R., and Clarence E.

Not that I know of. Her mothers name was Nora Smith her father was Ben Fogle.

Charles H. Fogle, 57, of Newark, Ohio born Dec. 13, 1951, went wherever we all go to on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Fogle; his mother, Barbara Hart Fogle; and his aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Charlie is survived by his older brother, Bob Fogle (Patti Vroom) of Charlotte, N.C.; his older sister, Janet Fogle McKim (Bob) of Coal Run, Ohio; his other brother, Henry R. Burke (Anne) of Marietta, Ohio; two nephews, Brian and Geoffrey Fogle; and his godson, Gabriel Hart McKitrick of Marietta, Ohio.

Charlie was a photographer, a newscaster for WMOA, a newspaper columnist for the Marietta A.M. and most recently employed at Spencer House, a recovery center in Newark, Ohio.

No flowers or donations please; Charlie hated all that stuff.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (Jan. 23, 2009) at Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta Chapel, 500 Fifth St.

Were you related to John Houston Fogle? (Also known as Jack). He was my uncle, one of my father's brothers. I was at his funeral in Oklahoma City. He is buried at Sunnylane Cemetary in Midwest City, OK. How did you happen to post this? JL Fogle
