From my Grandmother's notes, Peter Fogleman b. 1785 came from England and settled in Russell County Virginia in 1812 he married a Yates. They had two sons Andy & Steven that returned to England. They also had a daughter, Eliza Anna Fogleman who married Palmer Sulfridge. Peter's wife died two weeks after Eliza was born and she was raised by an uncle and aunt. Peter married Barbara Powers.
Please contact me if you are researching this Fogleman or Yates at mikeireson@hotmail.com

I am interested in speaking with regarding your g-grandmother; you see, my g-grandmother was born in St Landry Parish in 1870 but her family moved to Texas around 1872. My g-grandmother's name was Fannie Onezia Fogleman daughter of Amaziah Fogleman. Let's talk!

Marcie McRae Wolford

I'm not sure if there is an actual relation, but the 1850 Crittenden Co., Arkansas census lists an Alanzo Fogleman being 4 years old. He's listed in the family group of John Fogleman. John is listed as born in Arkansas, but it his father, George Fogelman (misspelled like this in that Census), was born in North Carolina.

I have a little more information, but very little more.

I was married to a John Iley Fogleman. His father was killed, along with John's sister, in an automobile accident. I am not sure what year. His mother married a Earl J. Phelps. John's father or grandfather was from Pollock, LA. There was a big 3 story house on the main highway. His mother lives in Monroe, LA. Her name is Joy Phelps. Hope some of this helps. It's not much but about all I know. Oh, John has a brother named Justin Fogleman who lives in Monroe also. I really would like to know more about the Fogleman family as I have just started researching them. Good Luck, Carolyn

Anna Baker Fogleman was my grandfather's sister. Her mother (Amelia Wasem Baker)lived with with my grandparents in Wisconsin and Iowa until she died in 1944 in New Hampton Iowa. She is buried in Eagle Grove, Iowa where she was born. Her husband was William Stevens, AKA Walter Baker, born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He died near Beecher City Illinois in 1926 as the result of a car accident.

A cousin wrote a book about the family and there is a copy of a 1942 letter from Ted to Amelia.

Let me know if you have any more questions. The Wasems were a big family and there is a lot of information about them. Williams Stevens was descended from the LaRues who were early settlers in Kentucky.

I am interested if you had any luck with the Iowa research. My grandfather was Ray Claude Fogleman b:1892 Bedford, Taylor, Iowa. Looking for his brothers but I only know them by the names Clarence and Jessie. There is another tree on ths site with simular names. I am waiting for the birth cert form Iowa to confirm his birth and I hope to get his mother's name. I have been unable to get a SSI# for him. I wonder if Carl C Fogleman d: 1892 is related. Is he part of your family?
I know I need accurate information. That I can blame on my father, because he doesn't want me to find out anything. However, I know what it was like as a child when I had to do a family history project and not be able to get beyond my grandparents on my mother's side and no farther than my father on my father's side. I was ashamed that I couldn't go very far back. I didn't even want to hand in the assignment. I don't want that for my future children.
I'm trying to find the accurate information I need to find out my history. My mother knows nothing of my dad's family. Considering that my dad was 60 when I was born. I'm almost 26 years old. I'm doing the best I can, with what little I have. I have a ballpark to look in. However most of the time one has to pay to get a copy of the certificate. Right now I don't have the funds to do that. If I can find them for free I will. I'm sorry you couldn't help me.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Greenfield

I don't have many dates. My dad's birthday is Aug. 4, 1921. My grandparents, I'm not sure on. The resources I have from my dad's things are conflicting somewhat to say the least. The one constant is that my grandmother (Anna) was 37 when she died. The year she died is conflicting it was was either 1936 or 37, but then the year I have for her birth is conflicting with those years. I have her as being born in 1898. So talk about a little confusion. My grandfather was possibly born in 1895. I was trying to figure out the years of their birth from my father's birth certificate, which I know longer have a copy of. I thought I had a put a copy in my Bible, for safekeeping, but I guess I didn't. I have for my uncle that he died at the age of 23 from a war injury in 1983. I know that's not right I just figured the math, that would've made my uncle born in 1960. If my grandparents death years are correct... it's not possible for my uncle to have been born. More confusing than I thought.

Fogleman Family

I was previously Stephanie Franklin, recently married. I'm still trying to find information on my father's side of the family. His name was Theodore Franklin Fogleman (changed to Ted Franklin after WWII). His parents were Charles Ather Fogleman and Anna L. Baker (rumor is Anna was adopted). I also know that my father had one or two brothers... he was never specific. One brother's name is Hollace 'Bud' Fogleman. I was told he did get married and had I believe 2 daughters. My grandfather had three brothers, Glee, Glay, Oral. My father also told me he had an aunt (I'm assuming it would be my great-aunt) in Effingham, IL. Her name was Laura Witcholman (not sure on the spelling). Anyone with any info please leave me a note.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Greenfield

Herman and Virginia were my grandparents. Herman died in 1961 and my Grandmother died in 1999.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I am trying to trace the lineage of Venable T Fogleman (b. Jun 23 1886; d. Mar 1967) who was married to Annie Stinson (b. 2 Dec 1884; d. Jan 1979). They raised 2 children (still living) in Alamance Co, NC. Although there is alot of Fogleman genealogical information locally, I can't find any specifics about Venable's parents, grandparents, etc. in online databases or through Family Tree Maker, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
