My Fohl Mystery

Posted: 9 Apr 2010 11:34PM GMT
Classification: Query
Surnames: Fohl, Jahnke, Jans
The 1910 census lists a Lena Fohl residing with my Great grandfather Paul T. Jahnke in Buffalo, NY. She is identified as his mother.

Paul's death certificate lists his parents as John Jahnke and Lena Jans, both from Prussia. Paul immigrated from Prussia in 1872, and lived around the now Danzig area of Poland. Lena Fohl immigrated some time after Paul.

I suspect Lena remarried. However, this is the one and only time I've seen Fohl connected to my family. My research for Buffalo has turned up very little information on Fohl.

Just looking for guidance. I'm trying to find out more about Paul and his parents. I have yet to locate siblings.

Thanks,
Cynthia
