I am trying to research my husbands family from Hungary and this board is the closest in spelling to what i am researching, so i thought i'd start here and see if it connected with anyone.
Joseph John Fojdics came to the US in 1912 from Hungary. Found him on the Ellis Island records with incorrect spelling of last name ,last name was spelt as Tojdics but when i looked at the manifest handwriting i could see it was Fojdics, so i know i have the correct entry (from 1930 US Census date of immigration)
Says he originated/last residence was Boldogkovaralja, Hungary.
Anyone who can offer suggestions on where to look from here i would greatly appreciate it.
Anyway, he came to the us to see a relative in Passaic New Jersey, can't make out who, except it was a Fojdics ~ possibly a sister?
