I picked up your thread from looking for links to Cooke family originating from Connemara in the late 1800's. The family I know of are Colman Cooke and Barbara Cooke (nee Curran) who had a son John Cooke in 1886. John Cooke joined the British Navy and married by Great Grandmother in my home town of Stranraer in 1917.
