Thanks for your reply to the posting.

My research is posted here for a sister-in-law. She is a Milwaukee native, descended from Jan Folaron + Apolonia Jankowska/i > [Walenty's sister] Anna Folaron + Stanislaus Galasinski.

You can find a basic outline of the research I've collected on WorldConnect through a search for Anna Folaron.

I'll send an email with more details.

In a swing by the Milwaukee Co. Historical Society library today I checked their naturalization index and found:

Valentine Folaron, immigrated at Boston, Mass., May 1883 per his naturalization petition filed in the Milwaukee Co., Wis. courts. His naturalization was granted on 27 Jun, 1906; petition 12149, Vol 19, pg 366, witnesses: Frank Sabolewski and Frank Erdmann.

[also Walenty, Valenty, Valentin, and later, even Walter Sr.]

The original petition is on file at this library and a copy can be requested [Google the Milwaukee County Historical Society]. I did not request a copy since I am not researching this Folaron line. It's possible that Valentine's petition covered the naturalization of his siblings Anna and Martin that _may have_ emigrated with him ...? I have not found ship list records for them yet.

Susan,

I haven't found anything earlier than what's posted above, but I haven't checked the church records yet. Milwaukee's St. Stanislaus parish marriage records are very thorough and most have a place of birth listed - although it's sometimes hard to read what that priest wrote, or even know if he was guessing at spellings. You may know that already from your own research. St. Josephat Basilica records are also very helpful. It's almost unnecessary to look at any other church records for Milwaukee's Polish immigrant community until St. Hedwig's parish on the north side was founded by the many 2nd generation Polish families that moved in that direction to work in factories, tanneries along the Milwaukee River.

I'll keep this message board updated with my research!

Gary Rebholz
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

As you know there aren't too many Folaron's out there, so you never know there might be a connection between your line and mine. I only go back to Anthony Folaron dob: 23 May 1869 in Pozen Poland, and he had 6 children. I'm willing to share info. ~~Susan
