Good Evening Everyone,

Tonight, I want to announce the initiation of the Foljambe/Fulgham/Fulghum DNA Project with Family Tree DNA in Houston, Texas. This company has been analyzing DNA for genealogical purposes for three years. This project hopefully will produce a willing Foljambe family member that will participate. In this manner, we may be able to prove the family connections. There are a variety of tests they offer, but for this project it will consist of the 12-marker Y-DNA test. this test is the world standard to verify the Y chromosome for genetic matches between males. Results are placed in Family Tree DNA's Y-DNA database. Your results will be compared to a database of RECENT ETHNIC ORIGINS which contains Y-DNA test results. Family Tree DNA has entries from 108 countries in the REO database, which contains 13088 samples. The REO database is updated every 2 weeks. The Y-DNA test itself normally costs $159, however, as part of the Fulgham/Fulghum DNA Project, it will only cost $99. If you go to the link at the bottom of this post, it will take you to the Project webpage for Family Tree DNA. You will be able to sign up and the kit will be sent to you for the sample. Return the sample to Family Tree DNA along with the cost of the test and your results will be processed in about four to five weeks. My purpose for the project is help show the genetic link between the Fulghum, Fulgham and Foljambe lines of our family. We will also get a clearer picture of our family origins. There is a lot of good reading material on the Family Tree DNA homepage and I hope you will choose to participate. I am the only Fulghum/Fulgham family member that I have found that has given such a sample. My DNA indicates the "I" haplogroup indicative of Nordic heritage, which would support our family history concerning Viking Ragnar Lodbrok. If you have problems with the address below, just do a search for FamilyTreeDNA. There is a link to the surname projects that are underway.
