On the Webbs, Bural, and Clendenen . I believe they all connected to our gt. gd mother . She would be your gt.gt.gd. mother . ( Your gd dad is my Uncle Hiram ( My mom was his sister Jewell Folley .) I am in touch with most of that generation's children .
Hope we may all learn a lot on the new FB Page .I am fascinated by Benjamin F Folley and his wife Maggie . How did he buy such a large ranch in Turkey at that time ? 1880's .

Benjamin Franklin Folley was my gt. gd. father I would love to have photo's and any information on he and his parents and where they came from originally . Plus his siblings.
( Any info on the parents of parents G.W Folley ?) I do have his infantry papers 1864 ( G.W. Folley ) . I will share any of my photo's and books by a lady out of Adrian Texas on the Webb's , Bural, and Clendenen . Maggie Folley was Ben Folley's 1st. wife and she was a Webb . They had at least 7 children . A new Folley page can be found on Facebook . All are decendants of Benjamin F. Folley of Turkey Texas .Ben owned a large ranch around Turkey . I would love to know where he aquired the funds to purchase such a ranch in the early late 1800's . Interesting man .

Hello, are you certain that the name is Nail and not Nall? My gr gr uncle, Benjamin Folley, lived in the area around Turkey, TX. There was a family of Nalls in that part of TX & several of Ben's children married some of the Nalls. Ben was from Limestone Co TX prior to moving to Hall/Motley Co. Don't know much about the Nalls but can put you in touch with someone from that family if you think this is a good clue.

In the 1870 Grimes Co. TX census there are 2 Folley children, Edward & Louisa (Lucy) J., who are living with a Charles & Winny E. Montgomery family. "Lucy Jane" was the 1st wife of my gr grandfather, Wm Newton Jarrard of White Co. GA. According to family stories, these childrens' parents were Allen & Polly (Masters) Folly who died young. At the parents' death, the children went to live with the Montgomerys & then later lived with their "cousins" in Limestone Co. who were Lydia Jane (Folley) Sadler & her husband, Samuel L. Sadler. Lucy Jane married Bill Jarrard & died after the birth of their 7th child. Bill then married her cousin, Mary Ella Sadler, dau of Jane & Sam Sadler.

I found a record of a marriage between A. E. Folly & M. E. Masters in Grimes Co. 1857. Trying to find the Folley/Montgomery connection which was probably familial since the children were placed in their family. Also, Lucy & Bill Jarrard named their first dau, Willy, no doubt after "Willy Montgomery."

I really don't know how your family came from Ireland. But I do know they the way my family name was spelled at first was
Foley. But when my grandfather was born they changed the spelling of the last name. They spelled the last name as Folley when he was born. So I really don't know. All I know is that this family came from the Creek Nation in Alabama and moved to OK.

Mr. Folley, My Grandfather Benjamin Franklin Folley was born in about 1851 in Grosbeck (Limestone County) Texas
His Father was George Folley and mother Rebecca Ferguson Folley. His first wife died in an accident. They had several children. His second wife was my grandmother Cora E. Waldrop. My mother Johnnie ran his 4000 acre ranching operation starting at age 17. Really he was my step grandfather, but the only one I knew as grandfather as my mothers father died before she was born.

If this information helps any, please let me know. I have a new E-Mail Address, so I hope to get the "bugs" ironed out in a few days.

Sincerely,
Carolyn

Hi Cindy

It was great to hear from you. Diane Etheridge is a great niece of Ben Folley and she lives in Conroe,TX. She has been doing some genalogy work on the Folley Family, She would love to hear from you. I will get her E-Mail address and send it to you. My grandmother on my mothers side of the family was Ben Folley's second wife. They both had deceased mates and were married when my mother, Johnnie was about 17 years old. She came for a weeks visit not long after they married and stayed 32 years. She became his ranch manager under his guidance. He was truly the only father she ever knew as her own father died 3 months before she was born. He was truly her "Dad". When she married and had three children (myself included!) she continued living with my grandmother and "grandfather" and my father was away from home a great deal building a concrete construction business. We had a very unique situation and we all lived together with much love and happy days. He died at age 91 or 92. I loved him very much as the rest of my family did. My mother looked after his grave until she was 90. she passed away in 1999 and now my sister Virginia and I look after it. He is buried at Turkey, Texas at dreamland cemetary.
I know many of the Nall family as well as they lived near us and the Nall children and my family's children were close in age as well as friends. I was just with Richard Nall a few weeks ago at two events. He is the son of Jimmy and Tot Nall. Tot was Ben Folley's daughter.

Sorry for the epic reply. I am just so happy to hear from someone new in the Folley family. E-Mail me direct @CPerlowski@ATTBI.Com. I will be away from home for at least a few days as my Sister's husband is having a serious health problem and I am going to be with her. I hope to hear from you.

Carolyn McGann Perlowski

I am a great great great grandson of Able Folley ( Able, Benjamin Franklin, Allen, Alpha ). Alpha was my grandmother who passed away when I was 10. She married Miller Newton Hudson Sr. I am happy to share information. The only picture I have is of Alpha. You can reach me directly at hudson@math.sc.edu I have traced Allen Folley's wife's ( Luellor Atchison ) lineage back to 1300, though it is predicated on an unverified assumption based on family documents. I have traced the Hudson lineage back to Henry Hudson I in 1500 ( grandfather of Henry Hudson the explorer ). I can e-mail this information if anyone is interested. I have no idea who Able Folley's parents were. Does anyone else? Richard Hudson
