Re: Lewis Fondersmith - Ohio

In the Paul Milikin Geneology report I show a Lewis Born ab t 1804 to a Lewis born abt 1777, son of Johannes. This Lewis also had another child-J.Fondersmith born abt 1808. Both born in Ralph Twpl; Lancaster Col Pa. Also shows a Jacob B.(uchanon) Fondersmith born abt 1816-died abt 1886 in Columbus, Franklin Co. Ohio. He was Married on 5 Jan 1843 in Zanesville? Muskingun Co. Ohio. So, according to this Lewis was the father of Jacob and Johannes was the father of Lewis. Lewis had 15 children according to the Paul Milikin research. Paul Milikin is from Columbus Ohio. I hope this helps, I might have some more on the Faith Stoek Dasham research, will have to look later. Let me know as soom as you get this, email to BobDog442@aol.com

I have a direct ancestor, Lewis H Fondersmith, born 1816 in PA but only documented existance/connection in Licking Ohio. There is a Jacob Fondersmith (born 1810 in Strasburg, Lancaster, Pennsylvania)listed in the same census in Licking with an identified connection to Johan George Fondersmith of PA. I am trying to connect Lewis to either Johan or Jacob.

It is small and falling apart but does have the handwriting in it that makes it special.
If you find anyone who wants it, tell them to contact me, I want to give it to the family .

I found a Bible that has some genealogy in it from Fondersmith.
It dates back only to 1868 and is in very bad condition.
There are however some readable deaths and births in it if you are interested.
The only marriabe in it was for Marlles James Fondersmith and Margeret Frudar was united in matremony Febuary 21st 1875 at half pass six p.m. at cemeinnite Ohio........
I am not sure whether some of these things are misspelled or not.
Next Page has Births
James B. J. Fondersmith born in zanesville, ohio.
Margeret Fudar......or Frudar.......maybe Fredar born march the 10th 1885 at Lexington, Kentucky
George Henry Fondersmith was born November the 12th 1875 at half past one o'clock p.m. at .......looks like Florence, Kentucky and a side note that says Friday

I would like very much for those who are closest to this family to have this Bible.
My email address is bjvan@sbcglobal.net
Hi Pauline, the picture that you have is a picture of my great grandfather and grandmother and I would very much like a copy of the picture. My father was John Harry and this picture is of his mother and father. My mailing address is 284 Bowline Drive, Vacaville, Ca. 95687. Where did you find the picture? Is it tracable to your family in some way? I am hoping to make an album for our family in California, although there are six groups of Fondersmith's and we are all related together someway but haven't sorted the family out yet. The Vondersmith families are related also because Valentine Fondersmith changed his last name to start with a "V" when he move from Strasburg Pa to Phillidelphia and he is the twin brother to Johann which is my side of the family. This family has a unique history. Thank you very much for notifing me that you have a picture of my family.

Requesting any information on the whereabouts or this family bible. Supposedly it was to be used to research american history since it came over to the americas in 1750 but dates back earlier to germany.

I also have a Fondersmith photo. The only notation on the back is "The Fondersmith Family of California". I assume it is of Harry and Jennie Belle Smith Fondersmith who were married Oct. 09, 1893 in Whiteside Co., IL. Any connection?

I'd be happy to give you any info that I can find, the photo was taken at reunion of the Hall cousins around 1913. I don't know who she married. Please e-mail me at pprworks@myhome.net
