Is there any relationship between the grantor (FONDEY) and grantee (LOOKENDALLY)? The grantee is my ancestor, and I am looking for more information on him. He was born in 1790 in Columbia Co., NY, baptized at Claverack Reformed Church, married 1814 Maria BECKER (dau of Johann Henrich BECKER and Margaretha SCHULTS) in Seward, Schoharie Co., NY, and was enumerated in the Summit, Columbia Co., NY, census in 1820.
On 18 Apr 1827, FREDERICK LOOKENDALLY [Lukentelly, Lucandale, Lucenterry, Lucandary, etc.] was deeded land by "ISAAC FONDEY, CHARLES TOWNSEND and JELLIS WINNE, JUNR., a majority of the executors appointed in and by the last will and testament of the late JOHN FONDEY JUN. deceased with the full power and authority to sell part or the whole of the real estate of which he was seized at the time of his death and which will more fully appear by a reference to said Will now on record with the Office of the Surrogate of the County of Albany" for $722.08, lot number 3 in the subdividision of lot number 35. The deed was signed by Isaac Fondey, C. D. Townsend ad J. Winne Junr. Witnessed by Charles [Y. or G.] Lansing, Commissioner for City of Albany. Lawrence L. Van Vleeck, Clerk of City of Albany, also signed the deed acknowledging Lansing's signature.
Let me know if you would like the legal description of this deed or a copy mailed to you.
