Hi my name is Steve Foote
I was just looking through some old message boards and came accross this. The Robert Foot to which you refer is my Great(x?)Grandfather.I believe he had a child with Mary Ridout in Milton Abbass, without ever marrying, then later married Mary Snook in Sturminster. I was just wondering if you ever heard back from David Ridout with any evidence that Robert was the father, because he mentioned that there might be evidence that he was supporting her.
I know it is over 5 years since the last posting on this subject but I thought it was worth a go

I also just came across another person in my tree with the last name of "Foote." Her name was Grace M. Foote, and she married Jacob Otis Brubaker sometime before 1910. They lived in Colorado, Minnesota, Kansas, Oregon and California.

Jacob had a sister named Myrtle who married a Butler. Her daughter was Florence, who I mentioned in my above post. Florence was friends with Lynn Foote (a male), and at some point Lynn was in California.

I'm just wondering if Grace Foote was perhaps related to Lynn Foote.

I am looking for information on a man named Lynn Foote (not sure if I have the spelling of his first name correct). I believe he was born about 1914-1920, he served in WWII, and may have lived in California at some point.

He was friends with my great-aunt, Florence L. (Butler) Sampson. Her previous married name was Singler. I have some pitures of her with Lynn, and it almost looks like they may have been dating after her divorce from Herbert Sampson. At the very least they were very good friends.

Som of the pictures were taken in Venice, CA and it looks as though he was on leave. Also in the picture is Lou Higgenbotham and Dale Butler (my grandfather). There are also some pictures of Lynn with what looks like to be his family.

I'm interested in learning more about Lynn, his friendship with the Butlers, and if there was a relationship between him and Florence.

William Henry Foote and Mary Alice Hamilton were my gg-grandparents. I don't have a marriage record for them yet, but they were married 13 June 1863 in Deerfield, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Robert Foote would have been William's uncle, brother to his father Samuel (Robert and Samuel were sons of Samuel and Anna (Williams) Foote.

I have Mary Alice's brother David W. Hamilton as married 23 May 1867 to Elizabeth M. Allen (her first husband was Ephraim Baker). However, David was age 29 at this time, so it is possible that he was married previously to Matilda as she died in 1866. You can find the information I have at Ancestry.com.

I'm looking for information on a Matilda Foote marriage, daugther of Capt Robert Foote and Hannah Allen. She was born in Nova Scotia and died 1866 in Salem, Massachusetts. She married a David Hamilton of Nova Scotia.
Also looking for information on The marriage of William Henry Foote to Mary Alice Hamilton. I sure that David and Mary Alice Hamilton are bother and sister, I am looking for their parents. I did see a Capt Wilson Hamilton??????

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Michael Wayne Foote, 44, of 1204 Emerald Drive, Davenport, formerly of Tipton, died Monday, March 24, 2003, from complications of cancer.

Celebration of Life services are 4 p.m. Thursday at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Sister Marsha will officiate. His body will be cremated.

Mr. Foote was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Davenport, the son of Harold and Sally Jo Hain Shafer.

He graduated from Tipton High School in 1977.

He was a floral designer for Rock Valley Florist, Rock Island, Ill.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his mother, Sally Foote of Tipton; a son, Michael Wayne Foote Jr. of Oklahoma; two sisters, Nancy Grimm and her husband, Todd, of Columbus Junction and Tina Foulks and her husband, Mike, of Tipton; a brother, Terry Shafer and his wife, Wendy, of Warrensburg, Mo.; his stepfather, Jim Foote and his wife, Sue, of Dewitt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents and an uncle, Jack Hain.

My 4x Grt Grandfather was a John FOOT looking for his connections in Dorset.

Corporal John Foot - H.M. 4th Regt of Foot. Enlisted 6 July 1826 aged 19 yrs at Southampton.
Said to have been born in the Parish of Piddletown, County of Gloucester (identified and now Puddletown, County Dorset) Date of birth not stated. (so born 1907 there about)
His Army papers - described him as being 5'' 7" with brown hair, blue eyes and sallow complexion. His profession prior to enlisting labourer. Marks/Scars Cracked (? cannot decipher )
4th Regiment of Foot - in 1826 when he joined later that year the regimentt was posted to Portugal for 2 yrs - returning to quarters in Scotland 1828, then Ireland, back to England 1830, 1831 moved on to Austrailia and India in 1837 - back to England in 1848 (but John remained in India)
Discharged: 30 Septemeber 1847.

John marries on 14 November 1840 -Bellary (aged 33?) December 1840 to Mary Brooks (widow) in India.

I have a Edward b. 1865 d.1935 & Hattie (Henerson)Foote b.1870 d.1918. Children were :Rozella, Luella, Harry, William, Manual, Roy, Sadie,Charles & Ruth. According to the 1910 census lived in Charlevoix Michigan. Is this the same family. please Contact me.

I believe we are too. Hattie and Edward were my great grandparents. My grandmother was Ruth.
The were in Michigan for a while and after Hattie died Edward remarried Cora and moved to Tupper Lake.

Thank you for the info...actually, my Foote line is French-Canadian, from Quebec, as far as I know. Original name was Frappier, changed to Foote at some point, which makes it difficult to trace.

She married Daniel Pettibone 10 Jun 1805 in Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut, son of Daniel Pettibone and Elizabeth Chittenden. He was born 17 May 1781 in Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut or New York, and died 22 Feb 1876 in Cleveland, Oswego County, New York. In 1840, Sidney Bunce and family are found in Morgan, Ashtabula County, Ohio. Also found in Morgan are, John Foot, Julius Foot, Louis Foot, Roger Foot, Roger Foot, Roswell Foot, and Saml Foot. A Laura Foote is found in Austinburg, Ashtabula, Ohio. Adonijah Foote is not found in NY or Ohio. Sidney (Sydney) Bunce and family are back in Vernon, Oneida County, New York in 1850, as is Adonijah Foote and family.

I sure hope someone can help me figure out who Eliza's parents are.

Charles and Charlotte Foot, emigrated with 6 children to Australia. From my research I know there must still be family back in the UK. The Heard/Hurd family can be found in 1830 census in Utica, Oneida, NY. Ruth Polley-Foote is buried in Fredonia, NY.
Many of her children buried in close small towns in southern Cattaraugus Co, NY. One daughter buried Erie Co. Son Henry Monroe Foote buried Oakwood Cemetery, Lansing ,Ingham Co, MI.
Do have Pic's of Heli Foote, Sr., and son Hiram Foote died 1827 age 18y and a grandson of Heli's-Harvey Monroe Foote if interested.

If so, would you do a look up for me, please. I am looking for Isaiah McDowell in this book. I think he is on page 207 and/or page 861. I was able to see a snippet that said "Isaiah McDowell, b. 8 Dec. while searching World Vital Records at a Family History Center.

I should check this more often! This fits with the most likely scenario I have, and my Alex was born in Stanley, Perthshire on August 22 - I approximated 1884, so 1883 fits well.

Stanley Allan Foote,one of 11-12 children and is in our Family Tree. Born 27 Aug 1892, the son of Francis Foote and Jane (nee Barnes)He married Rebecca Elizabeth Caroline Carr in 1917 and had two children Elizabeth (Betty)born 1918 in Dunedin, and Stanley Edmond.
Francis Foote was my greatgrandfather's(George Jnr) older brother. There were four boys: all came to New Zealand and their parents George and Avis (Bowbear) came out here to be with their eldest son, John in 1868.

Margaret Christina Mullett was a sister of my Gt Grandfather, on the 1901 census it states that he was born in St.James, London, can you tell me which Register Office issued his birth cert as I would like to get a copy of this & would his death have been in Southampton do you know?
As William Solomon was described as a dramatist on Charles & Margaret's marriage cert I have felt intrigued to know more about him so read the site with interest.
Related family have told me that Algernon Foote very nearly married Ivy Mullett a neice of Margaret, have you heard this mentioned by your Grandmother?

I've come across an Alexander Foote on my family tree. He was born on 22nd August 1883 in a village called Stanley, in Perthshire, Scotland.
I don't know if this could be your Alexander Foote. I have no more information about his marriage/children, but do have some information going further back.
