Vernicia's children were Victorine and Judith. The others listed above were her grandchildren by Victorine.

Vernicia was also known as "Mickey" by the members of the family. Don't ask about why "Mickey" because I have no idea. Never heard why,either.

In regards to your message about Forans From James Joseph Foran Married to Mary Hawthorne. I am related to all Forans, it all goes back to John Foran married to Mary McIntyre in 1830, John Foran came to Australia from Derry Ireland as a covict in 1822.

Mike, I'm researching a related Kennedy line you have looked at, specifically William Kennedy, thought to have been born around 1818 in Waterford Co. Possible father Morgan Kennedy , born 1860's? in Waterford.
Have you by chance developed abything further on these 2 individuals?

To whom it may concern, the person who wrote that Foran's name was French doe's not know what he or she know what they are talking. My John Foran Came from Dorie later called Derry Then Londderry. Foran came from all over Ireland County Kerry, County of Limerick, Belfast,. And I have linked all of the Foran living in Australia & New Zealand. My name is George Stanley Foran, I have ancerstors that have served in every war since the Sudan By the way the original Name was O'Fourein with a dash above the e thus turning the name into O'Fourain now if you have any intelligench work out what that mean, Hooroo or now.

Sorry I made a mistake on the last message regarding the date of the family tree, Gerard (Gus) Foran was my Father, Chris (ginger) Foran was my Fathers second cousin. I have a section of the family tree back to my great great grandfather Patrik Foran (Dublin) 1830's, not the 1930's.

after tracing my roots back to kilkee co. clare and going there, i found distant relatives. three or four geneations ago they dropped the H from the name forhan...but they have proof that it was once there...my great great grandfather came to canada in 1847 with his family of forhans

Just happened to notice your post and since I have been doing a fairly large study on the "Canadian" branch of the Windross family thought I would pass along what I know.

George Windross born 1856 in Ontario married Mary Ann Gilheeny (spelling of the name is questionable) April 23, 1879 in Simcoe County. George was the son of George and Ann Windross born 1822 and 1827 in England. George and Mary Ann were living with his parents in 1881. There were at least three children--George born 1881, Mary Jane 1882 and Annie May 1883. This is the last of the info I have on this couple and have no record of him dying.

Mary Ann remarried William Foran August 2, 1893 in Newmarket. On the wedding record it states she is widowed. I have not checked to see if there was children born to this second marriage. My best guess on her maiden name is Gilheeney or Gilhenney. Translations are hard as the information is being translated from written records. In the case of the name Windross it goes from Windross to Windrum to Windsor plus many others.

John is my great grandfather. Maurice is my great great grandfather. Annie was his wife. I am desperately seeking information also. We don't know much about the Foran side. We know we are related to Dick Foran somehow and he was from Flemington. His father was Arthur Foran and he was a state senator. The family had established the Foran foundry in the late 1800's. We are trying to figure out how it all ties together. Maybe if we put our information together we could figure it out :)

Hi, I am looking for any information regarding the Forans of Carrickaneagh - 50km from Limerick, but I think officially located in North Tipperary. Daniel Foran enlisted in the 40th (Somerset-shire) Regiment in 1855 and ended up in Australia. In later life he gave his date of birth as 14th August 1826, but I suspect his real date of birth was in 1840. Any info. on this family would be gratefully received! Thanks

Are you sure that Gus and Ginger were cousins? We never quite knew the connection, or those that knew are long since gone. I know they were both boxers at the same time and that Gus was known to my family personally, but just not sure of the connection.

My maternal grandmother was a Foran, but lived in Wheeling WV, she claimed Dick Foran as a cousin. I saw a McKeon mentioned which I found interesting as my last name is McKeen. My great grandparents (also from wheeling) Thomas J and Anna Myles Foran.

My greatgrandfather (Edward Corfield)Married Sarah Foran who I believe was an aunt of Ginger Foran.I belive they came from Howth or Howth head in Ireland and went to Liverpool to work They had 2 children that I know of-Michael Corfield who came to New Zealand and Mae Corfield who went to America where I believe she died unmarried.

I'm related to the Foran's of Teernaboul(next to Coolcaslagh). The Foran's in both townlands all seem to be related, at least mine are related to some in Coolcaslagh.

My ggg grandmother was Nora Foran daughter of Cornelius and Ellen Donnelly. I have had a very difficult time with the name. There are not that many Foran's but it is misspelled more often than not..the variants are amazing.

My branch ended up in the US, I know of some Foran's from Coolcaslagh that ened up in NY(they were on Green lane in Killarney before they left)..mine settled in MA. They were related to the NY Foran's. One of that branch was a witness at my gg grandparents wedding.

I wish you luck, I'll keep my eyes open. I've looked at a lot of Foran records. Your male forenames are all names I've seen in the House/Tenure Books for Coolcaslagh/Teernaboul,

Looking for the parents of John Foran. He was married to Margaret Downey and they lived at Coolcaslagh, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland. They had 7 children:

John Michael born August 1896
Julia born May 1898.

I cannot find a mariage record for John Foran so I've no clues as to who his parents were. I estimate his year of birth as 1854 from an age given on the 1901 Irish census. Any help would be great.

I am also trying to find out the birthplace of David L. Foran, as well as his parent's names and siblings. People have been stating that he was from County Cork, Ireland but I have yet to find actually proof, documentation of that. Please let me know if you find anything and I will do the same! -Kelly

I received this information from the genealogy society of Miramichi, New Brunswick. I dont know if it helps or not:

There is a James and Catherine Foran living in North Esk Parish in 1851 (our census transcriptions) with a son Thomas b. about 1840. That is the only family of Forans on the river at the time (in the census). They are also the only Foran family listed in the census through 1861 and 1871. I didn’t check any further. The Foran name is common in North Esk and several listings are included in our North and South Esk cemetery transcriptions (all born late 1880s or later), but there is no Thomas (or father James). The info I found is below, from the 1851 North Esk Parish census:

I am looking for the Mother and Father of Thomas F Foran. He was born in Canada around 1835 and died in 1920. Me moved to Pittsburgh and married "Mary from Ohio". Their children included James D. (1866), Thomas F. (1868), Gilbert A. (1870-1910), Agnes (1872), Blanch (1873), Anna (1877) and St. Clair (1878).
My branch descends from Thomas thru Gilbert A.

Any information on who Thomas F. Foran's (Canada) parents are or when them immigrated would be appreciated.

Forans of Silgo Ireland

My clan came out of Silgo, Ireland. 3 brothers came across all through NY from what I understand. They all ended up in Kansas in the Salina Kansas area and Lincoln County areas.
Tim, James and one other brother. Sister Mary and brother Thadus stayed in Ireland. Their father's name was...James also. I am through Tim. He ended up in Minnesota area, working for the railroad as they worked their way down to Kansas, that is where he landed.
