Really would like to hook up with you and your information. I've been spending the past few weeks looking at the FELIX line that married Letha Forbush, sister to Ray, Clarence, my dad and others. Sould you want to talk on the phone, my cell phone number down here at Myrtle Beach is843.446.5842. Next week I'll be back up to my home in Barboursville, WV. Until we can get together either email or phone, Have a nice day. Jim Forbush

They were in the 1850 Stoddard Co., MO census, and there is really no explanation as to why they were there. Could this be your Sarah Forbush/Fawbush/Forebush?

Leslie

Forbush Family in Otsego County, NY early 1800s

Hi! I have a Forbush/Furbush mystery with many clues and I'm hoping to hear from any other Forbush researchers with ancestors in Otsego County. "My" Forbush family (Aaron and Salinda/Cylinda) lived there in the 1820 and 1830 census. Each census indicates they had many chlidren, girls & boys. An Aaron & Catherine (Rice) Forbush Sr. is well documented on-line and had a son, Aaron Jr. in 1780 in MA. My 3rd great grandfather Sanford Forbush was born in 1799 in New Salem, MA. The only Forbush/Furbush in New Salem then was Aaron, Jr. In addition, to Sanford (tentatively), Aaron Jr. and Salinda had a Clark Forbush (1812) and Salinda, Jr. (1823). They may have also had Simeon (1818) and Lucinda. I remember seeing previously messages from some of these descendants. Can we pool our efforts, please.

Have found that if you don't ask you may not get what you want?

Have received so much good information and so many pictures from other family websites on other family lines that I would really appreciate an invite to join one for the Forbush family.

My line is out of Lawrence County, OH, with George W being born in VA in 1826 then moving to OH to marry Sarah Pinkerman. I have several pages of descendant report to share and a few pictures. Besides the tie in to the Pinkerman families there are ties to the Sowards, Payne and Villars families. There are other families of course, but these are the primary families as related to the Forbush family line.

I have information on the Kingery, Simpson, Murnahan, Fetty, Cremeans, Copley, Browning, Varney, Murphy, Damron, Chaffin, Burns, Hatfield, McCoy, Smith, Wallace and McClellan families to name just a few of the families in my database of related families.
I hope to hear from someone with an invite, but if you don't have one and are interested in any of the families above just give an email to me at daby@sccoast.net down here in SC and I'll get back. My screenname for Instant Messenger on aol and yahoo is OldMUGrad.

Thanks for the read.

James L Forbush, CPA
I knew there was a Senator somewhere, but not who , a banker, but not who. Henrietta M. Failing's parents were Abiah Magnolia Morris and Dr John W Failing of Knox Co TN. Do you know why John Failing would have left OR to go to TN ? It is odd that some of the family came from NYC as I live there and never knew.
Some of the names in the family are beginning to make sense.
I have checked my data base and found no Ellen. I checked "Forbes and Forbush Genealogy" by Frederick Clifton Pierce but as it was published in 1892 it would be too early for your grandmother. I checked the index for pesmes and came up with only one that may serve you as a "lead". Under Utah is a family listing that is robably two generations back from your grandmother it is as follows:
Rufus(Rufus,David,David,Thomas,Thomas,Daniel)
b. 3 June 1818 m.Sarah Becksted. Res. Union, Salt Lake Co.,Utah.Rufs was from Royalston, MA. His mother was not named Ellen nor were any of his sisters although one was named Elmedia. His father, also Rufus, visited Utah and died there.

Reference: "Forbes And Forbush Genealogy" by Frederick Clifton Pierce published 1892.
Sylvander b.17 May 1821 came from Reading, Vermont. His family came originaly from Westborough, Ma. His father was Daniel and mother Hannah Bailey. Sylvander m(1)Permelia Allen 30 Nov 1841;m(2) Lenora Adams 30 Nov 1866. Permlia b. 1822 d.14 Feb 1864. Chidren:Mary J. b. 29 May 1844 m. 1862 S.H. Thompson;Charles A. b.29 Dec 1847 d.9 Aug 1858; George A. b. 15 Jan 1851 d.6 Feb 1857;Norton b. 27 June 1860;Isabelle b.3 Oct 1869 m. 14 Jun 1886 Wm. Simpson. Apparently the individual you are tracking is Norton. I found no other Charles that matches your dates. I can give you information back five generations to the Daniel "Ffarabas" that came over from Scotland(originaly Forbes)c1660. Say Forbes with a thick scotish accent and roll your "r's" = Ffarabas? hope this helps. Find Pierce's book from a reprint company. I bought mine from UMI
Out-of-Print Books on Demand 300 N.Zeeb Rd.,Ann Arbor, MI 48106;800-521-0600. It is a 5x7 inch 160 page book full of Forbes/Forbush genealogy. It has its share of errors but a great road map to start with.
