I am interested in the Forcier family since my great grandfather was Joseph Forcier who was born in Canada and resided in New Bedford,MA in 1900. Joseph had several wives apparently and at least seven children. The children's names were Mary, Eva, Clara, Rosina, Marie, Eugenia (my grand mother) and an unknown child. In 1900 Joseph's wife is listed as Obelzine (spelling on the 1900 census record was not clear). My grandmother told me that her mother's maiden name was Murphy and she was also from Canada. Joseph was believed to have been raised on an Indian Reservation is Canada. We believe that his mother was of Indian heritage but are unlcear about what tribe.
