Rueben Ford, Pastor in Goochland Co, VA 1771-1823

Surnames: Ford, Davidson
Does anyone have any information on the family of the above minister? He was the pastor of Goochland Baptist Church from 1771-1823, per an historical roadside marker. I'm curious if my 3rd ggf, Reuben F. Davidson (died 1846), could have been named for him. My Reuben lived in nearby Cumberland Co., VA, and one of his sons married a women in Goochland Co., VA (and Cumberland was formed from Goochland in 1748/49).
Does anyone know if these Fords were descendants of the French Huguenots whose name eventually became Ford (instead of the original "French spelling")? Thanks!
