Not familiar with your line, but you're right...something smells fishy. I get suspicious when people jump several hundred miles with no god explanation....that just wasn't common practice in those days. People tended to stay put and raise families, seldom moving across several states, as you have your folks doing. I suspect you are getting different people crossed up between the census, Tax records, and similar names. Can't prove my suspicions, but it just doesn't seem right. Best of luck
