It's entirely possible that your William Ford is descendent of the Cheddar William Ford. Cheddar William's son Thomas came to the US in 1847 and settled in Irondequoit, NY. However, In looking at the Churchville cemetery records, it seems that there is a burial that happened in 1844 of a Jane Ford. That was before Thomas Ford from Cheddar, son of William, ever arrived in the US. The names are all similar to the names in the Cheddar family -- William, Thomas, Jane... I have to wonder if perhaps there is some parentage in common. The trick would be to go a generation or two earlier than the Cheddar William Ford to see if a cousin emigrated to the US earlier than Thomas, since they all have similar names and settled in similar areas (all around Rochester, NY). Trouble is, I can't seem to go any further back with the line beyond William, born 1793.
