Thank you for the beautiful obituary for Eliza J Ford Ellis.
As a note, her son John Hicks Ellis was in Washington because he relocated there when his father, Richard W. was appointed Division Chief of the 6th Auditors office (oversees the Post Office) of the U.S. Treasury in 1887. Both father and son are listed in the Washington DC directories of 1888 and 1889 at the same address, but in 1890 only John H. is listed, and at a different address. I have wondered if Eliza J went with them. Perhaps her illness took him, or them, back to Arkansas.
