I know that my family originate in Caltra, co Galway, Ireland. Ballyforan (think that's right) is another place we have some connection with. Common male forenames are Thomas, James and the inevitable Patrick. My grandfather (who i think was born in Caltra around the end of the 19th C/beginning of the 20th C was called Thomas Forde. He died in Manchester in the early 60s. I think his father was called Patrick. We have two commemorative mugs, one decorated with "Patrick Forde", the other with "Patrick Rielley" (sic). My grandfather had a brother called Martin, who emigrated to the States (Downey, California). I met him once as a child. He had a wife called Ragna (?) and at least three children, one called Thomas like my grandfather (and dad!). I think he had another brother called James, who may also have emigrated to America. There may have even been other siblings. We also have some family connection with Glasgow, but i don't know any details. Can anyone tell me more?
