My grandmother, Azalia, was a Fording and I have her grandfather's obituary. His name was Leander Fording and he was a professor at Mount Union college in Alliance. I will see if there's a reference for you.

Where were the Fordings from? My father (deceased) always said Scotland but I've never confirmed that.
