Richard Fore was born in NC according to my records. (I don't have that verified, however) Land records show the family in SC in 1799. (And I have James listed as being born in SC about 1790)

Anyhow, maybe the family was still in NC and Joel Sr. moved back to the homeplace of his grandparents? I have Joel (son of Richard) being born in Marion County SC., 1781.

Who did Joel Jr. marry and where was her family from?

I haven't worked on this line in a while because it's been a brick wall. I have in my notes to trace the Finklea, Haselden and Tuberville lines.

In 1770 there is a John FORD listed in an agreement between Providence and Clear Creek (Now called Philadelphia) NC. Also listed is Michael Ligget. We later find the Leggett family in both Marion Co. SC and Monroe County Alabama (where my FORE line -- through Richard's son Daniel-- went) Are Ligget / Leggett the same? and is this FORD really a FORE in disguise? (We know through DNA testing that one branch of the family became FORD's at some point...I don;t have all the notes out to go into that)
