We have since learned that Anton (Anthony) is one of the Fornals we are looking to link to. Dates in one of Stephen's daughter's diary match up to the dates you and Wendy have for Anton and Mary.

We are related although my last name is Filipowski. My mothers maiden name is Fornal. Ted Mac etc were her first cousins. Your Great Grand father George and my Grand father John were brothers. They came from Tarnov in Poland. Tarnov is about half way between Krakow and Kiev. As for being a French name, I don't think so. I have been told the name Fornal was given to the person hired by a wealthy land owner to manage their horses. Would like to get more information on this.

my grandparents went to poland to see the family. the towns name was ducla. although i am not sure of the spelling of the town name.

My grandfather's name was Mac Fornal and he also had a brother named Ted. Short for Thadius. Mac married my grandma Bonnie McClain and they lived in Kansas City. My dad's name is Edward Mac Fornal, he married my mom Carla Saunders and they had four girls. Chrissy, Nicole, Erin, and myself. I've been searching for family in poland. I'm really not sure where to look. My grandmother also told me that Fornal is French. So maybe I'll try looking there too. If you have any information or web pages concerning the Fornal family please reply!!! =)

It also can have Spanish origon. Mine is Fornol and it's from Spain. There also is a town in Spain named Fornols. It is home to the Catalonian people. They are a mixture of Spanish and French.

dont know how these people are related but my grandfather came to this country around 1913 from poland, maybe near the austria border, his name was joseph and he came with his brother george, they were seperated somewhere after they arrived here, we believe george may have settled in pa, there are fornals there who when you look in the phone book have the same names as my uncles

My mother in law was born in Niwaska, Poland in 1910, her family came to the US in 1913.

We are searching for any relatives born in this town.

Mr. W. Fornal also know as Kazimiez Marek (?) was born in Galicyn, Austria on March, 4, 1891. He arrived in New York on July, 1, 1910 on the ship the Kunigin Louise.

George Fornal was born in Pambrowica, Poland on Febuary, 21, 1888 and arived in the U.S. in July of 1914.

I am hoping to find how these two are related and if they still have family elsewhere.

I have been told the name Fornal has some French orgin because it's spelled "fornal" but pronounced fornel. Other then that I know nothing....sorry, I shall try to do some research..Thanks for replying!

My husband's mother was born in Niwaska Poland, she was born on 7/10/1910....her father was Szczepan Fornal, he was born in 1880...not surw of the correct spelling of his last name which is in Polish

Does anyone know if Fornall and Fornal are the same family. My Great Grandfather's name was Fabin Fornall. He came to Kansas City in the early 1900's from Poland. My grandfather's name was Karl and there were 12 children in his family. He was born in town called Lupency,Hungary(in 1903). All that I have been able to find were Fornalls from Fabin's family no one else. Please let me know.

Joan, I understand u are looking for someone who has relatives who came from Poland in 1913 to the US...As I have mailed ur siter Wendy a list of my relatives... We are trying to find out if My husband's Mother had any other relatives who were born in Niswiska , Poland and came to the US in 1913.

Stephan Fornal was born in 1880, his wife was born in 1886.
