G'day Folks
Researching Forrest.
Originally from Crawfordjohn and Carmichael.
William and Henrietta circa 1800. Family mainly blacksmiths and
farmers. One branch, son William and wife Mary moved to Midlem,
Roxboroughshire. Had three sons and one daughter. One son William, my
ggrandfather, married Mary [nee Crichton] in Eaglesham Renfrewshire.
They then moved to Cuffabout/Cupar/Ceres in Fife where my grandfather,
William started work as a blacksmith.
My grandfather born in Straiton, near Liberton, cira 1886 in Mid
Lothian. His sister, Henrietta went to Rhodesia/South Africa circa
1900 as a Mrs McDonald[later remarried a Mr Parr]. A brother, Simon
went to Virden in Canada circa 1908, had a large family. Am in touch
with this side of the family.
Another branch left in Hawick. In touch with this side of the family.
Associated names: French/Slimmon/Brownlie
Help appreciated
