i would like to find out about an ancester of mine

her name is margaret forster born about 1520 of stoke pero

somerset. she married robert southcomb roberts father

william southcomb mother was unknown. margaret forster

and robert southcomb had 3 children. robert southcombe

was born i hitnk in meshaw not to shaw 1537 and died in

1603 in warkleigh. george southcomb born about 1540 he

died 23rd june 1595 in rose ash devon.

humphrey southcomb. the southcombes of rose ash come

from orginally coomb in somerset eight generations

were rectors of the parish from 1675 1948.

burkes peerage have found out that the southcombes came

from coombe de la coombe before i think 1500. also

they came from bishops nympton and also meshaw . and also

burkes peerage have said that the southcombes of rose ash

are related to the southcombes of dunsford near exeter.

one of whom shot a roundhead trooper from a cottage window in the civil war and sold his horse ot he vicar of tedburn st mary in the local pub.

this is the southcombe side of the family. margaret

forster. who i would like to find out about.

had been a patron of the stoke pero church. also so had

sir john forster. she died about 1580 he died about 1576.

i would like to find out how this to are related.

i have been given the information she could be his

daughter but she can't be because they both died within

4 years of each other . also his wifes name was joan.

the forster family were actaully patrons to teh church of

stoke pero for 200 years before margaret was born. the

patron names after her in 1663 is the son of jaon

nutcombe nee forster. so margaret must have been a

member of the forster family.
