Mandie and Jacob: It could be that Mizella Tool and Samuel George Forston are the George Forston and Mary O'Toole who are the parents of Mary Alice Forston. The 1860 Census of Grass Township, Spencer County, Indiana, has a Samuel (44) and Marilla (39) Forston with 7 children, including a Mary (4) born about 1855. There are other Forstons in that township, including a Mary A. Forston (20) born about 1839, who has a two-year-old son named George (= Samuel G. Forston in the 1870 Census). These families are all related and reuse the same sets of names. As for Mizella, Marilla, and Mary as variants, the first may simply be a misreading of difficult penmanship. I understand that the Forstons go back to Dorset County in England.
I am currently trying to discover the relationship of Mary Alice Forston Clark (born Aug 21, 1852 in War County, Indiana) and the Spradlin family in Oklahoma. She and her husband James H. Clark moved to Johnson County, Illinois, and the to Kingfisher, Oklahoma Territory in Sept 1891. She died Oct 26, 1942 in Enid, Okla. Would appreciate any information. Thanks.
