Hi, I have some details of a Joseph Forty which may have a connection with Joseph Richard.
My Joseph was born 1792 Stow on the Wold and died 1868 he was married to a Francis Forty nee Rott born abt 1799 and died 7th June 1865.
This family may be my gt-gt-grandparents

My mother was a Forty prior to her marriage, from Shrivenham (now Wiltshire, UK). My grandfather was Alfred Louis/Lewis Forty, born Sept 1878, died Dec 1947. Gt Grandfather was Albert John Forty and Gt Gt Grandfather was Charles Forty, born 1816, died 1895 in Lower Swell, Glos. Very interested in family history early 1800's and prior. I'm in Australia, will be visiting UK May and June 2006

The Forty Family We are researching began with George Forty and Caroline Bosley, one of their sons death certificates said they were both born in Glostenshire England, seems they were married in the Ross District of Hertfornshire England. There children (all born in England) Emma S. Forty, James Forty b. 11 Feb 1854, Elizabeth Forty b. 8 Aug 1859, George M. Forty b 1861, Anna Forty, Charles Forty b 1 Sep 1866.

In a bio book it said George and Caroline had 7 children and above is only 6. I beleive the reason George M. Forty used his middle initial was because possibly (but not proven) George and Caroline had a first son named George b. Ross Dist, Hertforshire England.

Emma S. Forty may or may not have come to the US with the rest of her family.

I am the son of Martin Forty and Carmen Perez from Puerto Rico. There are a few families in Puerto Rico and in New York whose last name is Forty. Many of these families are my own relatives. Good luck with your search.
