Hi, I see you posted this quite some time ago. I will assume you have much more info by now. What I have is Leah Root is the daughter of Samuel Root/Rute. It is spelled Rute on tombstone. Samuel was born 14 May 1897, died 6 Sep 1881 married 15 Sep 1836 to Susannah Friend. She was born 24 Jan 1818 and died 30 Nov.1887. I have down burial wasn't till 7 Dec 1887. I'll assume it was weather related?? Leah's sister Susannah married Jacob Fourman brother to Joseph Fourman, her sister Leah's husband. I did not research more into that line--yet. Samuel Root's parents were John Root 1774-? and Barbara Lane. Susannah Friend's parents were Jacob Friend 1774-aft. 1850 and mother Susannah Smith 1770-1839. I have down Nicolas Friend is the father of Jacob 1733-1821. His wife Maria Elizabeth Beiser 1740-?? I did not research this to say it is correct. I have a George Fourman in my line I have ran into a brick wall with.George Fourman/Fuhrman was born 1799, died 1851 md third time in Montgomery County Ohio to Mary Flory. She was born 1813, died 1863. George's first wife was Regina Steger married March 7 1820 in Lebanon Co. PA, second wife was Catherine Stobmeyer/Stobmayer.He moved to Ohio with Catherine.Does any of this info ring a bell with you? Any help you may give, would be appreciated.
Karen

I am the ggg granddaughter of HENRY FOURMAN. I am still looking to find where in PA. he was born and who his parent were. He was born in the year of 1809 and married Catherine Rider March 6, 1834 in MONTOMGERY CO., OHIO. Henry died September 24, 1893 and is buried in the Ithaca Cemetery on SR 503, Darke Co., Ohio. He was a farmer in Twin Twp., Darke Co., Ohio. I understand that Henry's children changed the spelling of FOURMAN( this how we spell it today). On the marriage certificates record in Montogmery Co., Ohio, Henry's last name was spelled FURMAN. Catherine parents are buried in the REIDER CEMETERY, MT. JOY, LANCASTER CO., PA., so maybe Henry came from that area too.

I am the gggranddaughter of Henry Foreman. Although I don't have hard proof yet, I think that his family came from Manheim Township in York County PA. I'm pretty sure that the name is German...Fuhrman. (You'll find them on the census records til 1790) A Jacob and a Henry Foreman each got Ohio Land Patents in 1833, 1835 & 1837 near each other and were 74 and 62 respectively in 1850 Darke Co census. They're probably our Henry's dad/uncle. There's 6 folders on the Fourman family at the Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio. I haven't been there, but there's probably much of interest. Leah Fourman (Henry & Catharine's daughter) married a German immigrant to Darke county named Matt Hofacker who had my grandpa Samuel Hofacker. I have a hunch that Jacob, Peter and George Foreman were all cousins or brothers of Henry...you'll find them all on the 1850 census.

I AM SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT MY DAD'S BIRTH MOTHER. MY DAD WAS BORN A FOURMAN, BUT I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THIS IS THE CORRECT SPELLING. HE WAS BORN DECEMBER 20, 1955, IN YORK, PA. HE WAS THEN ADOPTED. ALL I KNOW ABOUT HIS MOTHER WAS THAT SHE HAD RED HAIR AND WAS A LEGAL SECRETARY. SHE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN FROM THE JACOBUS AREA. I KNOW THAT ADOPTION RECORDS ARE CONFIDENTIAL, BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE MEDICAL HISTORY. IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT KADZ24@AOL.COM
