Hi Guy,
I have found recently some interesting info for Joseph Fournier and Domitille Diotte. I don't have found their marriage (It's seem they were married in Lancaster, ON). I have retraced 8 of their children but I don't where they were all born. I have retraced some baptisms in Currant and L'Orignal, ON; Buckingham, QC.

At the same time it exist two other Fournier's families whom lived also in L'Orignal and Buckingham where I found Domitille Diotte godmother for a child of Jacques Fournier and Henriette Lacelle. I found also Charles Diotte and Marie Meilleur (Domitille Diotte's parents), sponsors for a child in the same family. These families and the family of Joseph Fournier and Domitille Diotte lived in Thurso, between 1867 and 1900.

So I believe they are three brothers: Joseph Fournier, m. Domitille Diotte about 1850; Jacques (James) m. Henriette Lacelle, 1849, in L'Orignal, ON and Pierre (John-B.) m. Marguerite Robinson, 1851, in L'Orignal. Their Fournier's parents were Jacques Fournier and Addée (Adélaïde)Quesnel.

Joseph Fournier and Domitille Diotte had 4 daughters whom were married:
Emilie, m. Alfred Laviolette, 24/04/1917, St-Sixte
Marie, m. Alphonse Bernier, 16/04/1894, St-Sixte
Mathilde, m. Napoleon Gemus, 10/11/1889, Thurso
Elisabeth, m. Moïse Binette, 20/05/1885, Thurso.

Flavie is not his mother.

I found his first marriage under Fuller.
Peter Fuller, age 22, Flavien and Adeline .....
married on 10 Oct 1870 St. Bernard Church, Fitchburg, MA.
Caroline Dalton, age 18, Edward and Mary .....

Peter also had a brother Charles that married in New Bedford as well.

I did find Peter's baptismal record.
Pierre Philias Fournier baptised 19 Jul 1848 Notre Dame Church, Quebec City, Quebec
Parents, Flavien Fournier and Adelaide Pepin.

Flavien Fournier - Joseph Fournier and Agatha Gosselin
married 24 Sep 1839 Notre Dame Chruch, Quebec City, Quebec
Adelaide Pepin - Francois Pepin and Marie Lessard.

Thanks so much...I've got most of that, with the exception of hte marriage date between him and Mary...I've found him in 1851 in Canada census in St. Thomas...Flavin, is actually his mother, Flavie, though have his father as a Thessers (sp)...The writing is very difficult to read..I'm going to visit my Great Uncle, son of Alice Fournier Deaett, this weekend and am going to ask him about this family, though I don't believe they had much contact, as this family stayed in New Bedford, while he grew up in Providence.

I did find:

Pierre Fournier, 36, door maker, son of Flevin [Flavien?] and Adea [Aldea?]

Marie Boucher, 23, works in mill, daughter of Antoine and Louynon? [not sure of this name]

Married by JA Prevost, priest.

died of Pthisis at the age of 28.

All of these persons were born in Quebec, The spelling isn't too great of these French names.

But at least this gives you a start in the backwards journey. You should join the Quebec-Research group on Rootsweb. You can post questions to them and you would be surprised to find someone always seems to have the information that you're looking for.

You can also ask City Hall to send you a copy of their marriage and Caroline's death now that you have the exact dates.

My grandmother was a Fournier, but I can't find a connection to your family, at least not yet. My family settled in Fall River.

I'll keep looking for more information for you.

My GG Grandfather is Pierre Philias Fournier, Sr originally born in Quebec, Canada, then immagrated in 1873 with wife, Caroline Dalton, and three children; Pierre Philias Jr, Frederick and Lucille, to New Bedford, MA..Caroline died young in 1880 and was buried in Canada.. Pierre remarried a Marie "Mary" Boucher in 1886, having five more children; Marie Adelaide "Addie" (1890-1947); Marie Elyse "Alice" (1895-1987)*My G Grandmother; Irene Florida (1900-1992); Philias Jean Baptiste "John" (1902-1971); and Doris Marion (1905-1941); Both John and Doris were one of twins, with the siblings, either being still born or passing immediately..I can find them living throughout NB, MA from 1880-1930, but no ancestors, or information on where he came from in Canada.

I am looking for information on Jack Fournier he is a baseball player for the American League DOB: 28 September 1889 AuSable, Iosco County, Michigan. DOB: 05 September 1973 Tacoma, Washington, he married Helen L. Cummings on the 27th of November 1913 in Tacoma, Washington. What I don't have is the names of his parents possible dates and or his grandparents. I have been told that he is part of our family of Fournier's but I don't have proof.

My greatgrandfather, Paul Fournier, was born in 1893 in New Orleans. His parents were Rose St. Amant and Octave Fournier married in 1887 and had six children. Paul married Maragret Lacey daughter of Stella Brooks. I know that Rose is african american but not sure about Octave. Can this information help someone help me?

I am looking for any descendants of Louis & Rose (Rosa) Fournier. Rose was my Great-Aunt born 01 Jan 1890 in Illinois(?) and died 03 Mar 1964 in Bridgeport Connecticut. Below you will find some background information on Rose (Rosa).

I'm looking for information on my great-aunt Rosa was adopted by the Eddy family along with her brother Philip and were circus performers. Rosa did acrobatics and Philip walked the high wire. Rosa lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut until her death in the 1960's. I'm trying to break through the Freund family brick wall and trace the family back to Europe. Rosa had three other siblings besides Philip. Two brothers Fred and George (my grandfather) and a sister Catherine.

Hi I am looking for an obiruary on my grandfather Paul Fournier he was born in 1900 in Redford, New York. Or so we think! He died sometime in May 1967 or 1968. Charles Fournier age 22 married Ophella Caron age 19 on July 6, 1903 at St Antoine parish in New Bedford Ma. Charles parents are: Napoleon Fournier & Marie-Sophie Trudell. Vital's first marriage was in New Brunswick,widowed in 1877 he came over to the island and married Marie Gallant on Oct. 3 1881. The had six known children,Aime(Amos) my grandfather,and another known Victor Irenee(aka Ernest),Born July 24 1890, in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. ect. Victor went to USA in early 1900's. Later married Emily Fournier- born April 19,1896.Glouchester N.B.,Parents Patrick and Gerturde Fournier. Patrick Fournier moved his whole family to the US in early 1900 also. Victor change his name to Ernest and married Emily on July 27 1913 in Old Town Maine,USA.This is most of what I know looking at recorded material.

He married Stella Kielbasa b 12-13-1915 & had 1 son Rodney Mitchell Fournier b 2-22-1944. I am Rodney's daughter Christine. I think my grandfather is the son of Charles Fournier 10-10-1881 of maine & Ophelia Caron 6-27-1884 of either lafayette arkansas or quebec & there were 3 other children Joseph, Anna & Romeo. I'm not sure if this is his correct family as I don't have much info to go off of. If anyone has info about this family would you please let me know. I believe my grandfather lived his whole life in the New Bedford area but I'm not sure.

There was a marriage of a Joseph Founier and a Mathilde Down in 1845 and his parents were Augustin and Marie Leblanc. That marriage, however, took place in Beauharnois County. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I believe that she might be the sister of a great-great-grandfather I have been looking for. Can you tell me anything about her brothers and sisters? The obit does not mention Louis' wife, Georgianna Rousseau. Unfortunately, the obituary was in a scrapbook with no date and no newspaper name. Since you say that Delia's father was also Louis, I believe this is the same family. Can you send me any information about Delia's ancestors as well as any brothers and sister? I am Sandra Fournier, daughter of Jean Arthur Fournier who was the son of Maxim and Julia. I believe I read on some site that your grandmother's name is Hazel. My father had a sister Hazel (as well as Ethel, Catherine, ...I'm forgetting someone...and Dorothy).
My Uncle Bill (William Fournier) was my godfather.
Would love to get any information that you may have on the family. When my sister Teryll was in Syracuse this summer, she visited our cousin Don Jessmer. He stated that you have quite a bit of our history.

Some preliminary research by others in the family leads us to believe that Joseph's father and mother were Augustin Fournier and Marie Leblanc, but we have been unable to confirm this information or move beyond it. I was hoping someone out there might be able to assist.

I am attempting to trace the FOURNIE, FOURNIA, FOURNEY family lines of South Western and Eastern Ontario. My problem is with the family move out of Quebec.

The original move was made by Joseph Fournier (b. 20 May 1822 - d. 02 April 1912) and Catherine Dow (b. August 15, 1832 - d. 20 May 1913 ) [However, their death records indicate birth years of 1818 and 1827 respectively] . They were married November 18, 1845 in Chateauguay County, Quebec .

Please Help!! My Grand Father was Rene Charles Fournier, b.11 Jan. 1883 in Vichy la Gareme, France. Came to U.S.A. on the La Champagne from Havre France, arriveing in New York on 2 Aug 1897 with his father, Henri, brother, Leon, and sister, Leona. Mother Sophie Soubairan Fournier remained in France. Rene and family moved to Danbury, Ct.to be with Aunt and Uncle A. Foubert.
Rene Fournier married Helen Gautrau March 21 1907 in Meriden Ct. They had two living children, Louise Fournier Varian, (my Mother) and Azalie Fournier Varian, (my Aunt)
