since your last message, i have done some more serious searching of my Fousts in TN, and have even found some old pictures of them.
The farthest back I can go right now, with certainty, is to a William Foust and Sarah E. Palmer.
I don't know any dates or other info. about William. He and Sarah resided in Gibson, TN. Sarah was born in 1838 in Gibson.
You mentioned family who were part Cherokee. From the pic of Sarah, she looks like she could have some Indian in her.
Sarah William were married in Henry County in Dec. 1854, I believe.
Until I can get some substantial info. on which William is mine, that I can determine who is parents are, and siblings, I can't with
certainty go back any farther ---
